Is there any mystery AT ALL that McBush is lying like crazy about Palin and Obama?
What else is he going to talk about?
"Change" means not talking about anything that reminds voters about Bush."
By the way, Rasmussen, which is about as far to the right as any of the pollsters, now has the race exactly where it was BEFORE the conventions and has Obama only a few EV's away from 270.
The race is just about over.
Course Palin and McBush might do great at the debates!!
Chortle, chortle.
Obama has timed this perfectly
A few observations:
1) He waited until polls gave McBush a lead.
So McBush can’t us the "I’m a poor little underdog just like I was in that little room in Hanoi!!" mantra with any hope of it continuing to convince anyone outside the far right.
2) He let the McCain people lie like crazy without saying too much.
Now, he’s using the word "lie" for the first time. I bet that McBush was just about to accuse Obama of lying - just to make it seem like Obama was going tit-for-tat on the dishonesty stuff – a strategy McBush has been using all along – falsely accuse your opponent of what YOU are actually doing. Classic Karl Rove. Voters know that all politicians lie and forgive that. But if you get CAUGHT telling blatant lies, they are not nearly so forgiving.
3) He held off on the negative stuff until McBush’s money limit kicked in.
McBush will not be able to flood the market with ads to fight the negative stuff that is coming now.
McBush has been negative for some time now – it’s effectiveness has been significantly reduced by overuse – ditto with the POW argument. Obama’s negative attacks are much more effective than McBush’s have become.
4) He’s directly attacking the hypocritical new "McBush is change" strategy RIGHT AFTER the Republican convention where McBush had very little to say about change. Obama’s "they’ll do anything to get elected" is much more effective framed this way and as a bonus he has weakened McBush’s stupid "lose a war to win an election" goofball argument.
5) He now says, "What they are going to try to do is what they always do, which is attack, go on the negative, distort, mislead, assert," Obama said, as members of his invitation-only audience of 350 began yelling "Lie! Lie!"
Obama just cocked his head in response as if to say he wasn't going to go there. Contrast "lie! Lie!" with "Drill, baby, drill." "He’s not a maverick, he’s a liar" now carries some bite.
McBush is now boxed into a corner. He can't possibly defend all of the lies that he is now being called on. There is only one possible action for him: Tell even more outrageous lies and hope like hell that Karl Rove's dictum, "Keep repeating it and eventually everyone will believe it" is true. Check that, I might be confusing Karl with Joseph Goebbels. Sorry Karl, I know you take pride in your reputation! LOL
6) He now says, "The American people aren't stupid" a lot more often than he did before.
The implication is clear: "Republicans are stupid." I also expect to hear "These people seem to be proud of their ignorance" a lot more in the coming days. These people, of course, = Republicans.
7) I love the new joke his surrogates are saying:
"What’s the difference between bull-shit and moose-shit?"
"Lipstick!" Right back at ya, Palin. That’s effective in more ways than one, or should I say, "THE ONE!"
McBush's claim that "Lipstick on a pig" means Obama is calling Palin a pig is ludicrous. But I say, what is wrong with calling a pig a pig? LOL
OK, women, I'll be good from now on, but why is it that only men can be pigs? What happened to the notion of equality of the sexes? LOL
8) He is showcasing his executive talent by the way he is running his campaign. Would you like to see the country run like Obama’s campaign has been run or would you like to see the country run like McBush’s campaign has been run?
The contrast is palpable isn’t it?
The right answer is now obvious.
McBush has been played by a master playa.
