Can Palin be an Attack Dog?

Doesn’t seem too likely, since the McCain campaign won’t even let her be interviewed.

Certainly tonight she will be throwing a few lines in attacking Obama, but the bulk of the speech will be about herself - and her far right credentials.

At this point in the campaign, you don’t want to have to be "introducing" half of the ticket.

That means that the attacks have to come from either:

Surrogates: Not nearly as effective.

Or McCain himself: Will probably lower his numbers at the same time.

Obama’s numbers are dangerously (for Repubs) close to 50%, if they can’t bring these numbers down quick, the election is over.

They’ve already used their most powerful TV ad negative messages.

What do they have left? Just easy to refute lies.

How come none of the talking heads are talking about this?

It seems to me to be the most glaring weakness of this crazy, impulsive VP pick.

Symbolically speaking, that is. 

McBush is on that bridge.
Too bad for him that it is a one-way highway.

Most people don't give a crap, but man are the tabloids going to have a field day with this. Not too surprising that they tried announcing this just as Gustav hits the NO area and, of course, on Labor Day.

Kind of sneak it in on us.

Three Reasons Hurricane Gustav Will Sink McCain’s Campaign

1. New Orleans is NOT READY for this Hurricane, no matter what actually happens.

No matter what happens, it is obvious that the Bush Administration did not do enough to repair the levees. If they are breached, that makes the Repubs ALL look bad especially McBush. Heck, CUBA just had Gustav hit them at Category 4 level, and it looks like they were quite well prepared.

It was especially interesting hearing them warn about how all the FEMA trailers are only designed to handle 40 MPH winds or less. Not only are they formaldehyde releasing poisonous pieces of crap, but they are actually expected to become DEADLY PROJECTILES!! Talk about getting the most for your money.

Freakin’ Cuba doesn’t house people in freakin’ MOBILE HOMES! The Bush Admin. Had THREE years to get these people out of these things and they couldn’t do it – it took GUSTAV to do it. Freakin’ COMMUNISTS are doing a better job than Bush.

What the heck is McCain/Palin doing in Jackson MS??? Even Bush has the sense to stay out of the area – and will go to Texas today. OK, so he’s got his vacation home there, too, but of course that’s just an amazing coincidence; he really, really cares.

2. DRILL NOW! DRILL NOW! Is blown out of the water (literally).

There are 4,000 oil wells directly in the path of Gustav. Did you know that? You do now – and so does anyone else who is watching the news. It is virtually guaranteed that many of these wells will have major leaks from this storm.

Think they’ll be anymore disingenuous comments from the Repubs about drilling by CHINA around Cuba? Anyone know think adding another "Drill now! Drill now!" person to the ticket was a wise choice? Do you think that CUBA will have any leaking oil wells because of this storm?

3. Global warming is now a much more important campaign issue.

No one can point to this storm as being caused by global warming, but Jeez isn’t this kind of like getting hit in the head with it? Especially with a "global warming isn’t caused by humans" idiot as a VP candidate?
