Hey Joe, ever heard of William Henry Harrison?

"But when asked by The Advocate if Palin is ready to be president from day one, Lieberman said 'thank God she's not going to have to be president from day one. McCain's going to be alive and well.'"

William Henry Harrison:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Henry_Harrison

At least he had a cool slogan,

"Tippecanoe and Tyler Too"

Maybe she's a quick study?? I believe McBush's health is better than Harrison's was at the same age only because Harrison had been dead for four years.  LOL

If that doesn't sober you up, consider that, until Reagan, Harrison was our oldest President.

Is the Secret Service worried about Bulgarian hitmen?

From a HuffPo article:

...an amiable Secret Service agent said to me, "We're securing the area, so I'm afraid you'll have to move."...

'With a wide grin he said, "Okay, you can stand near that pole, but don't poke me with an umbrella."'

Or was that the KGB who like to kill people with poison dart equipped umbrellas?

Gallup Daily: Obama 50%, McCain 44%

Obama hits 50% again in the Gallup.

Stick a fork in McBush?

Palin's Gary Hart Moment????

Sarah Palin = Lucy Ricardo

I finally figured out what was so dang familar to me about the way she talks and acts.

Right down to her "Lucy, you got some 'splainin' to do!" sputtering we're seeing now for the first time.

Funny Poll Tracker typo

Pres '08 Sep 17 ARG Obama (D) 82%, McCain (R) 13%

John McCain: "We are SO F'd"

John McCain: "We are SO F'd"

I have no good sources for this quote, but trust me, it's true.

LOL!

Just saw it on CNN, "McCain Unfit to Lead!" 527 National Attack Ad is underway!

Surprise, Repubs!

527's are on the attack - but not against Obama, which is what MSM has been predicting for months, but against McBush!!

The ex-POW who describes McBush as reckless and dangerous is now featured in a 527 attack ad. That's right a 527 attack ad in exactly the Rove mode of operation, but AGAINST Mr. POW himself!

It Proclaims"

"McCain Unfit to Lead."

In EXACTLY those words. Sound familiar, Repubs???? LOL

The next thing that will happen is MSM will echo that ad, with stories about how Kerry was attack the same way.

Meanwhile, in delicious irony, immediately after that ad ran on CNN, CNN continued it's interview with someone they falsely describe as "a Democratic Pollster" who started to rip into Obama as "falling behind in the polls" (which is clearly false to begin with) "because he is perceived as soft because he is on the defensive all the time now."

Absolutely hilarious. One could only hope that a monitor was playing for that "Democratic Pollster" so that he was able to think about it as he read those words on the teleprompter.

What can McCain going to do about this ad?

1) It features a fellow POW, so he can't POW his way out of it, although he will try.

2) He will try to claim that Obama is running a nasty campaign, but the charge will run hollow. (shameless, bald-faced plug: see my previous blog entitled, "Obama has this timed perfectly" LOL)

3) He will try to claim it is shameful "lies" but MSM is going to, in turn, recite the "lies" that McBush himself has been spouting. (It was very important for Obama to wait for McBush to repeat those lies HIMSELF, so that he can't now claim that "other people" were responsible for the lies, not him - a defense that many "pundits" are still trying to claim on behalf of McBush - as in: "McBush is FAR too honorable a man to be campaigning with lies!!!" arguments that are now very easily countered with ACTUAL VIDEO CLIPS FROM LAST WEEK!!

In other words, despite the fact that the McBush campaign has been desperately keeping both of their lying candidates as far away from interviews as possible, McCain's dismal appearance on "The View" is going to help him go down in flames along with Palin's performance, increasingly viewed as stilted and contrived, in that "Charlie" interview. By providing proof that the McBush/Palin is PERSONALLY running a foul campaign.

Just think of how long the late night shows are going to enjoy telling Palin jokes with "Charlie" in every punch line! LOL

Meanwhile, Obama will be truthfully saying that "he did everything he could to discourage 527's from putting up attack ads in his favor." It no longer matters whether he is telling the truth about that, since he has SUCCESSFULLY BRANDED McCain as a nasty liar running a dirty campaign.

Watch how Obama will now indignantly demand that their 527's now be shut down (having beat McBush to the punch LOL). I love it! (see "timed perfectly" for why I love this! LOL)

McBush/Pale-in' have been played by the master playa.

They won't even know what hit them. They bite hard and now Obama is reelin' 'em in nice and slow. They'll struggle mightily, but in the end they will end up gutted, stuffed, mounted, and finally HUNG over Obama's fireplace. LOL

No, HUNG is not evidence that I am being sexist OR racist. Honest injun squaw. LOL

Karl Rove Attacks his OWN tactics!!

From the Huffpost:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/09/14/karl-rove-mccains-ads-hav_n_126280.html

Is this guy laughing is ass off at the ignorant MSM that he is able to manipulate so easily, or what?

What loses.

Watch McBush either:

1) Make a big show out of firing one of his "advisors" (handlers) and trying to put all the blame on that person for the lying sack of sheep that McBush has proven himself to be.

OR

2) They will just keep on keeping on.

Either way figure McBush to:

3) Say that Obama "brought this on himself" because OBAMA is actually the one who is racist and sexist and a liar and McBush is only reacting to that with "great reluctance".

Completely fictional and reprehensible representation of McBush's views:
"And by the way, he CAN TO send email!!! And he knows the INTERNETS even better than that Bush fellow. Obama's just making fun of his "WAR INJURIES!!! EVERONE knows that 40 year old shoulder injuries make computer work impossible!! Which everyone knows is the real test of whether one can be a great President or not since I'm a POW POW POW!! The cad.

There's not even a word for that like racist and sexist and liar and his financial advisor, Alan Greenspan, says that he will wreck the economy!! No, no, no don't listen to those liars say that Greenspan was MY advisor, no, those are lies. And I never said that I have his book, and besides everyone knows that I don't actually read anything.  And, and, and, I'm out of breath. Weeeooooo..   ppuff, puff.  Where's my cane, dammit!!? No, no, I don't need the wheelchair and oxygen this time, you CANT!!"

Politico Ignores Obvious with their phony "Five Reasons McCain has Pulled Ahead"

Politco's idiotic article is also in the Yahoo headline list.

1) They state "pulled ahead" as fact when it isn't a fact.

He hasn't actually pulled ahead except in a couple polls that utilize questionable methods such as "likely voter" algorithms that favor McBush. Everyone else has it even.

Which to my mind, due to the land line/cell phone/caller ID problem, means that Obama has about a 3 point lead across the board.

2) Convention bounce? We don't need no stinkin' convention bounce!!! Even though it is McBush's convention bounce that is actually fading instead of Obama's "star".

3) They say that "white" people prefer McBush, then accuse the Obama campaign of being racists.

4) They brag about Palin's "effect" on the voters, then accuse the Obama campaign of being sexists.

3) McBush has "leveled" the money field except for where they haven't.

The article makes confusing nit-picking arguments based on comparing statistics before and after the Dem Convention, then in-between conventions then before and after the Repub convention.

As a side note, today on CNN headline news, a segment is introduced saying that "The Obama camp is accusing the McCain campaign of lying about Palin's Iraq visit" then they only discuss whether or not Palin actually "banned" books when she was mayor of that stinkin' little town.

Then loudly proclaimed "BALONEY" with the word splashed diagonally across the screen - directly implying that they "debunked" the Obama campaign instead of what they actually debunked (and not very convincingly):

Vague Internet rumors that were probably started by none other than Rove himself. The Iraq lie is not discussed at all.

As a kicker, CNN and FOX continue complaining about the "liberal" media.

Let's keep things in perspective.

Let's keep things in perspective.

McCain can no longer talk about Iraq: McBush Advisor to CNN

Shy is falling people take note!

Here's the link:
http://thinkprogress.org/2008/09/10/cnn-mcbush-iraq/

Is there any mystery AT ALL that McBush is lying like crazy about Palin and Obama?

What else is he going to talk about?

"Change" means not talking about anything that reminds voters about Bush."

By the way, Rasmussen, which is about as far to the right as any of the pollsters, now has the race exactly where it was BEFORE the conventions and has Obama only a few EV's away from 270.

The race is just about over.

Course Palin and McBush might do great at the debates!!

Chortle, chortle.

Obama has timed this perfectly

Obama has timed this perfectly

A few observations:

1) He waited until polls gave McBush a lead.

So McBush can’t us the "I’m a poor little underdog just like I was in that little room in Hanoi!!" mantra with any hope of it continuing to convince anyone outside the far right.

2) He let the McCain people lie like crazy without saying too much.

Now, he’s using the word "lie" for the first time. I bet that McBush was just about to accuse Obama of lying - just to make it seem like Obama was going tit-for-tat on the dishonesty stuff – a strategy McBush has been using all along – falsely accuse your opponent of what YOU are actually doing. Classic Karl Rove. Voters know that all politicians lie and forgive that. But if you get CAUGHT telling blatant lies, they are not nearly so forgiving.

3) He held off on the negative stuff until McBush’s money limit kicked in.

McBush will not be able to flood the market with ads to fight the negative stuff that is coming now.

McBush has been negative for some time now – it’s effectiveness has been significantly reduced by overuse – ditto with the POW argument. Obama’s negative attacks are much more effective than McBush’s have become.

4) He’s directly attacking the hypocritical new "McBush is change" strategy RIGHT AFTER the Republican convention where McBush had very little to say about change. Obama’s "they’ll do anything to get elected" is much more effective framed this way and as a bonus he has weakened McBush’s stupid "lose a war to win an election" goofball argument.

5) He now says, "What they are going to try to do is what they always do, which is attack, go on the negative, distort, mislead, assert," Obama said, as members of his invitation-only audience of 350 began yelling "Lie! Lie!"

Obama just cocked his head in response as if to say he wasn't going to go there. Contrast "lie! Lie!" with "Drill, baby, drill." "He’s not a maverick, he’s a liar" now carries some bite.

McBush is now boxed into a corner. He can't possibly defend all of the lies that he is now being called on. There is only one possible action for him: Tell even more outrageous lies and hope like hell that Karl Rove's dictum, "Keep repeating it and eventually everyone will believe it" is true. Check that, I might be confusing Karl with Joseph Goebbels. Sorry Karl, I know you take pride in your reputation!  LOL

6) He now says, "The American people aren't stupid" a lot more often than he did before.

The implication is clear: "Republicans are stupid." I also expect to hear "These people seem to be proud of their ignorance" a lot more in the coming days. These people, of course, = Republicans.

7) I love the new joke his surrogates are saying:

"What’s the difference between bull-shit and moose-shit?"

"Lipstick!" Right back at ya, Palin. That’s effective in more ways than one, or should I say, "THE ONE!"

McBush's claim that "Lipstick on a pig" means Obama is calling Palin a pig is ludicrous. But I say, what is wrong with calling a pig a pig?  LOL

OK, women, I'll be good from now on, but why is it that only men can be pigs?  What happened to the notion of equality of the sexes?  LOL

8) He is showcasing his executive talent by the way he is running his campaign. Would you like to see the country run like Obama’s campaign has been run or would you like to see the country run like McBush’s campaign has been run?

The contrast is palpable isn’t it?

The right answer is now obvious.

McBush has been played by a master playa.

Can Palin be an Attack Dog? How come no one is talking about this?

Can Palin be an Attack Dog?

Doesn’t seem too likely, since the McCain campaign won’t even let her be interviewed.

Certainly tonight she will be throwing a few lines in attacking Obama, but the bulk of the speech will be about herself - and her far right credentials.

At this point in the campaign, you don’t want to have to be "introducing" half of the ticket.

That means that the attacks have to come from either:

Surrogates: Not nearly as effective.

Or McCain himself: Will probably lower his numbers at the same time.

Obama’s numbers are dangerously (for Repubs) close to 50%, if they can’t bring these numbers down quick, the election is over.

They’ve already used their most powerful TV ad negative messages.

What do they have left? Just easy to refute lies.

How come none of the talking heads are talking about this?

It seems to me to be the most glaring weakness of this crazy, impulsive VP pick.

"Bridge to Nowhere" now has a new meaning.

Symbolically speaking, that is.

McBush is on that bridge.
Too bad for him that it is a one-way highway.

Has there ever been a more screwed up Presidential campaign?

If Diebold and the Supreme Court do what they did in 2000, I'm moving to Sweden.
