Conservative? What does that mean?
I'm now thinking that conservatism is a form of schizophrenia. They can't make their mind whether they are socialists or monarchists. They vacillate between the two with nary a hit of irony.

Conservative, or conservatism, is a strain of political thought.
Emphasis on strain.

To someone who considers himself conservative, to me it means taking care of oneself and one's charges, minding one's business, honoring the rights and property of others, and obeying the law.
Political bent is government operating within the constricts of the constitution.
