President Obama: Whatever You Are Doing, It Is Working !!
Last night I had another irregular gettogether with some of my working class friends here in WV over a few beers.
Towards the end of our socializing (we rarely discuss politics), one of the more Neanderthal leaning DINOs (he is one of our WV voters responsible for turning WV from blue to red and certainly did not vote for Obama-they all know that I had the biggest Obama sign in the state in my front yard ) sidled up to me and, in spite of the constant Repub brainwashing we endure, said:
"Obama is not doing too bad. In fact, if he can do something like make healthcare available to everyone, I may never use the N-word again. I too am listening."
President Obama, the people are listening, even here in WV. Keep it up!!

Oh, WVaBiker -- thank you for bringing us this augery/omen/ divination/ straight talk from the heart of geo/political darkness.
I am not insulting WVa when I say that. (My father was teaching at UWVa when I was born, although we moved back to SC three months later; and, through my grandfather, I have a specific western Maryland connection -- Deep Creek Lake -- to Northeast WVa. Therefore, my formative years were split between those states we would regard as being irrevocably red or blue. So I, perhaps as you do, have a sense of political/geographic schizophrenia.)
Hazzah. After spending most of my life in SC and MD, that a Bubba of your acquaintance (or so I would refer to him, with appropriate affection/exasperation) not only sees, but acknowledges Obama's gifts, fills my heart with gladness.
Thank you, wvbiker, for your post.

Awesome post.
Yea, they get it. This is a populist movement in the making, when people cross parties and ideologies for the common good of the middle class worker who finally sees someone who is listening to them. And what they do is listen back.
That is the way it should be.
Can you get them to hit on this Bachman chick in the House of Representatives?

Thanks for your encouraging post. For all the liberal head-scratching it has caused, this is the reason Obama continues to press for post-partisan dialogue on his core issues. It is the only way to achieve lasting progressive change.
