Anastasia (Nettie) Sopko (1918-2006)

Beloved mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother.

She was an anchor in my life. A hard worker. A working woman who had to take over providing for her family at a time most didn't. Proud. Strong. A giver of gifts, a naturally lucky woman. She liked to play lotto and play bingo and she won quite a bit at both, then handed it over to her children. A patient teacher. A fun seeker. A woman without much education but a wealth of common sense. A giving woman who took care of us all. Even when she couldn't take care of herself.

I can't imagine the changes she saw in her lifetime. I see her in this photo, an awkward bride of 16. She taught me much about myth and my gypsy heritage. About sacrifice and rewards. About heartbreak and the love that can overcome it.

My life. My world got darker today.

God Bless you Baba. I will always, always remember you.

I am very sorry for your loss. You're very lucky to have your Baba who inspired you to do so much.

You call blogging 24/7 and keeping a message board about CSPAN a real accomplishment?

You're really fucking stupid.

What a disappointment you must have been to her, knowing that you spend all your time typing nonsense and jabbering with strangers on the internet instead of taking care of your kid and your old man properly.

I view with contempt those who post items for the purposes of eliciting sympathy.

Whatever happened to keeping your personal life private? What is this need to share with strangers? It makes no sense. You must be very emotionally needy, workerbee, to seek sympathy from people you don't even know. This is why blogs are such bullshit. People are under the disillusion that ever mundane detail of their boring lives would be of interest to the general public. It's a shame that your grandmother died, but really, outside of your family, who the fuck cares?

Nonsense. You view everyone with contempt.

My condolences, Workerbee.

Nonsense. You view everyone with contempt.

Not Jews or anyone who is working to fight back against the Muslim jihad.

I also don't hold law enforcement officers or criminal prosecutors in contempt.

It's funny, Howard, how you spent a few posts prattling on with your TPMCafe buttboys about how important it is not to converse with me, you still can't resist, can you?

Like a moth to a flame.
