This should have been forced down the Bush Administration at the time it was all happening, but the Dems in Congress are too WEAK. Now that they have literally all the power, they start to talk tough. I have no respect for them at all.

If (when, hopefully) Lieberman is voted out by his colleagues, he'll take his toys and go home, despite his cries for fairness and national interest over partisanship. He'll be a thorn in the side of the Obama Administration and his former Senate Democrat friends, out of spite really, but officially because that's what he thinks qualifies him as an "independent". And Obama can rightly call him out on it since Obama "said" he wanted to let bygones be bygones and not hold a grudge. Lieberman is a world class d-bag.

This is what annoys me about the larger liberal world. This attitude that "I'm personally insulted by this so let's all stand in solidarity against all which may potentially insult anybody!!, who's with me!!?".

Lighten up, Francis.

I guess they call it Political Correctness. I call it uptight and humorless.

This ad is served by a sort of ad-conglomerator where TPM has very little control of its content and the advertisers get to choose which audience or site they want to target. TPM gets paid for this and I find it appropriate and smart. This ad model keeps a very important channel of news media viable in general. Specifically it keeps THE BEST political news website viable. - you think TPM could survive if it had to pay an ad sales team? And knock on every corporate door and ad agency in America? No, it couldn't.

And I've visited this so-called offensive t-shirt site. I think it's funny. I think it's hilarious. I've bought a shirt at one of these sites - it was for a party where we had to find funny t-shirts to give to a person who was a girl I'd met once (we drew names). It had a romantic pic of two people hand-in-hand on the beach and it said, "I like long walks on the beach and anal." People thought it was funny. Mostly because it is supposed to be. This Cat t-shirt you mention is funny too. And if you can believe it, I can laugh at that pic without actually being a person who would kill a cat or even remotely wish a cat harm. I'm a dog person, but I've had cats and loved them. The shirt, shockingly, did not make me want to harm cats and I'm quite certain if I saw a cat harmed that shirt would in no way dull my outrage.

I'm more offended by your attempt at censorship.

Protest if you like, that's your right. Boycott if you must, that's your prerogative. Try to recruit others if you wish, that's your time and effort. And then... disappear from this site so I don't have to continue to hear the whining about more and more specific nuanced perceived offenses, that'll be my relief.

I almost hope Bush does though, so the bad "Bush" taste in America's mouth will linger longer.

I wonder though, is there some chance Palin the Governor will appoint herself Palin the Senator? Not really, since Alaska will have to hold a special election and Palin will not have a chance to appoint anyone.
