Come to think of it, Fox doesn't really have a 'Business Network,' either

Since the Obama Administration took the offensive against Fox News - breaking the nationwide ban on telling the truth about Fox - many have vociferously complained. Ok, aside from Jake Tapper, the only ones complaining vociferously are Fox Newsians, but there has been some push back.

Of course, there are others that believe that Team Obama didn't go far enough. After all, how could he just slam Fox News for not being a news organization without pointing out that the Fox Business Network isn't really a business network.

The heroes at FBN's Happy Hour decided to prove their utter worthlessness by interviewing Overstock.com CEO Patrick Byrne about the SEC:

Byrne was his typical, charming self. He invented a story about an anonymous "friend's" dealings with the SEC. He managed to mention Overstock.com's official media arm "DeepCapture." He again claimed SEC officials are, or were, on the take.

What Byrne - and the Fox Business anchors - didn't mention in this probing interview about the SEC? That Byrne's company, Overstock.com, has been subpoena'd by the SEC and is being investigated on Overstock's previously-announced restatements of its financial statements in 2006 and 2008 and other matters. It is the second time in three years Byrne and Overstock have been investigated by the SEC.

But that was apparently not worth mentioning during a discussion with Byrne about the SEC.

In the end, you may disagree with the Obama Administration's war against Fox News. But when FBN can't bring themselves to mention a massive conflict-of-interest from one of their guests - who happens to be a long-time Republican - there's really no need to treat FBN like a real business network.

WTF Wolfrum?

I rec'd this, but umm, this is like, uh, serious commentary. Are you forgetting your shtick around here? I mean you were on a role, like an insane number of hilarious satires in a roll. I don't know how you do it. But it was, well amazing.

Alright, well I won't tell the tubed guy- it'd break his heart, but uh, like keep it quiet.

I saw it. He's been naked short mud-wrestling this Patty Byrne dude for a while. Turns out, Wolfie's like the Human Leghold Trap or something. So I just treat it like changing channels between cartoons. "HEY! DID YOU SEE THAT? CHOMP! WOLFIE JUST BIT HIM!!"

Needs more blood though. Maybe a large-breasted sidekick. All the big names got those now.

Looks like the Obama administration just got its ass handed to it by the Washington Bureau Chiefs of the 5 TV networks.

Those 5 guys worked in concert and said that Obama's pay czar would not be permitted on any of the networks unless the White House relented and allowed him to also make an appearance on Fox News.

Regardless of your opinions about FNC, that is just simply a fight the White House is not going to win simply because FNC has an overwhelming ratings lead against each and every competitor.

The craziest part of this entire debate is that during the daytime hours, FNC is indeed a legitimate news network. Then, at night in prime time, they go to a format that nearly every other 24 hour news network has mimicked. Namely, that of the 60 minute show; each with its own host.

Now, it cannot be denied that Fox News is the outlet for everything GOP. But can somebody explain to me how Keith Olbermann is legitimate and Glenn Beck isn't? Personally, I don't care for Beck's shtick, but he is absolutely positively no further to the right than Olbermann is to the left. The same could be said in a Rachel Maddow vs Sean Hannity discussion. They are the same thing only on different ends of the political spectrum.

The Democrats just need stop whining. The GOP has always controlled AM talk radio and they always will. Similarly, FNC has always had a huge ratings lead over CNN and MSNBC and it always will. This feud being instigated by the Obama administration is unwinnable and actually reeks of sour grapes. Hidden amongst the conservative drivel that permeates the content of FNC, legitimate questions are asked from time to time. Moreover, if the Obama administration is so certain that the facts reside on its side, what the hell are they afraid of? If they think FNC is making up bogus claims and implementing smear campaigns, why don't they call out FNC by going on their shows and making them look ridiculous?

It's debating 101: by avoiding Fox News, the administration will be painted as skirting the opposition and it just doesn't look good.
