« Statement from William K. Wolfrum: "My heroin addiction has kept America safe" | William K. Wolfrum's Blog | Introducing "Blogger Hero®" The first game for the competitive blogger »
Hey Josh. look over here! Josh! Josh! Josh Marshall! Hey!
Dear Josh,
Having vaguely skimmed over several of the recent TPMCafe posts begging for your interference into TPMCafe matters, I believe I have come to a satisfactory conclusion.
Now, as far as I see it, the "Cliques" have a strong majority in the Cafe House. It would seem that if they united as a block, they could easily pass any type of TPMCafe rules they want. The minority should be reconciled to that.
However, I believe it is the American way for a pliant majority to give into the minority, regardless of the issue. That is why the "clique People" must meet the "non-clique people" half way. It would just be rude, unseemly and un-American for the "cliques" to use their staggering advantage.
In the end, this capitulation - which we all know is coming - will mean that TPMCafe will undergo no real changes. At least until the next election cycle But at least it will give you time to worry about more important matters, like, say how to get through the final few levels of "World of Goo.".
Cheers,
Bill
P.S.: If you're not Josh, please don't read this.

Then why don't you take this down and send it to him in an email.
Or, better still, why don't you make this the title of the blog?

If clear thinking requires abandoning one's sense of humor, I think I would rather remain confused and befuddled.

Actually its his chick's glasses that i like, but at least he tempered the bear cowboy schtick.
Is his writing any good?

I think I mated that cowboy feller in yer picture off to a Brahmin bull a few years back. He was a noisy lil bastard, and not half hairy.
Writing? Oh shit, this Wolfrum feller writes like a house afire. That is - fast, red hot, attracts a crowd.
Usually ends with the roof coming in though, steaming puddles with bits of carbonized furniture sticking out, children standing around crying. That sort of thing. Talent.

what's he doing here then? I thought we all just held hands and stoked each other. Hell I think there are 10 or 11 meta love posts up there right now, lead by whiner in chief the uberbrillant Dan k (TPM is stupid bo ho ho).
Heck even CT had to chime in- maybe he will bring his toys back and play again.
"steaming puddles, bits of carbonized furniture?, that reminds me. It be nice to see some more posts from up north again. I mean DD, Rootie, and Wolfie can't carry us all, heck he's living la vida loco down south.
Seems to me i say one a few weeks ago that disappeared might quick. Had some good music too.

I must comment under my assumed name, I have been called a 'dick' many times anyway. Especially by repubs with colon problems.
I broke a collar bone you know. Did it occur to you to send me a 'get well' card or some such?
You people are sooooooooo cold sometimes. Always thinking of yourselves.
If you need me I will be at Salon crying to Joan Walsh.

I saw Dan K's post on this same topic. I like Dan, but it's funny how this is coming up again. What you all should realize is that TPMCafe doesn't really exist for any real purpose.
Josh has this fantasy that he is the editor in chief of a power media organization, and that what he does is Important! in the way that the Walter Konkrite was Important! He imagines that TPM does serious investigative journalism.
That is a complete fantasy, of course, because TPM really just links to stuff that other people are reporting. There hasn't been any original reporting on TPM in a long, long time. TPM itself is a pretty pointless exercise.
TPM in the end is just a weaker version of the other news aggregators out there. JMM knows this--he thinks the competition is Huffpo. I don't know about you all, but I read huffpo a lot more than I read TPM.
Anyway, the point about TPMCafe is that it exists just to keep the rabble at bay. Virtually every major blog allows comments in some way. JMM never really wanted to interact with people directly. That's why he takes reader comments via email and why he shunts actually commenters off to TPMCafe where they can play amongst themselves without causing him too much trouble.
TPMCafe is a shiny thing to distract idiots while Josh pursues his wild fantasies on the front without being disturbed.
If you like that, you're welcome to it. But if I were you, I wouldn't sweat it. There are a ton of better ways to entertain yourself on the internet, and a ton of better blogs.

How many blogs does it take to weigh a ton? Lets see, a ton is 2000 lbs, a pound is 16 ounces,hmm.. Im gonna need to know the weight of a blog to figure this one.

Way too hard guys. Muscle, blood, skin, bones, mind that's weak, back that's strong... too many variables. Let's get back to determining the weight of a blog...

yikes, Reece, the truth hurts...us oldtimers still hanging around, in the end we are pretty pitiful fools, aren't we? :-) I'm actually fine with being a mouse clicker to sell to advertisers, that doesn't bother me on bit....where I draw the line is being one of those emailers, researching document dumps pro bono for TPM Media, LLC, so they can get an award or something, not for me--if I am going to spend the time on something like that, I'll be the one sharing it with folks in public, not in private emails.

That's uhh quite a little fantasy world you've got there. But I must admit, you know a lot about this JMM fellow; you should be an investigative reporter or something.

The fringe cliques always think they are in the majority which is why compromise with the real majority feels like defeat.
