Forced H1N1 Vaccinations? Deliberate Eugenics Weapon? They have TV Now?
I ran into the queerest teevee program last night; a neighbor had told me about it: 'Out There TV'. He had said they cover paranormal stories, and described (lurid) stories that 'mainstream media doesn't cover.' Mmmm...maybe for good reason.
http://restoretherepublic.com/
I was switching back and forth with a PBS Masterpiece Contemporary, so I just got parts of various stories. The one I stuck with was about H1N1 flu; their claims, and the claims of visiting Gary Franchi of Freedom TV:
There will be forced Swine flu vaccinations; mandatory quarantines of citizens; large cadres of people will refuse the vaccines; Fema incarceration camps are being set up to aid in the detentions; polls show over 50% of 'mothers' will refuse the vaccine for their kids; Canadians en masse are refusing it; legions of health care professionals are speaking out against it; and quote doctors, such as this one:
Canadian Doctor: H1N1 Vaccination a Eugenics Weapon for Mass Extermination
Canadian doctor Ghislaine Lanctôt, author of the Medical Mafia, has underscored the lawsuit recently filed by Austrian journalist Jane Bürgermeister against the WHO, the UN, and several high ranking government and corporate officials. Bürgermeister has documented how an international corporate criminal syndicate plans to unleash a deadly flu virus and institute a forced vaccination program
Franchi hinted that many of his supporters are standing armed and ready to fight back against mandatory vaccination.
He wanders, with video, into the Obama Civilian Military, and has a trailer up for the video 'Camp Fema.'
Franchi speaks of the Foreign Men in Black military who are participating in joint anti-terrorism exercises in California as evidence that the Global Police Network he had warned of is here.
Other related subjects were about New World Order economics, resisting the National ID card, and what it means to the freedom of our citizens. Ron Paul blogs on this site, and there is a video about the End the Fed national protests on Nov. 22.
http://freedom.tv/
I don't know where Freedom TV is shown, and when I googled Out There TV, all the links were dead. Our translator district carries it on America One, whose website says they reach 35 million households in 125 markets. I wonder how many receive and watch 'Out There TV'?
There was a discussion recently about trying to find common ground with those on the extreme right. Listening to these extreme, I assume, Libertarians, I could agree with a few of their worries, like assaults on independent media. (In their video about this, Democracy Now!'s Amy Goodman was shown. ;-} That the Fed needs investigating and arguably has way too much power, I can agree with. I have had a couple bad experiences with flu shots; I have no stomach for National ID, either. But then they torque some of these worries into full-blown Government Takeover rants--and they come with video! We all know how powerful video is; the images can stay ringing in your mind, and especially when they come with portentous, dire-sounding music.
My understanding is that there haven't been bad reactions from the flu shots globally, though it may be early days yet. I won't get one for various reasons, but it is alarming to me that so many people may be getting the information that this flu strain was constructed to be a pandemic flu, intentionally. I don't understand by their logic what the shots or nasal sprays are for, exactly; that one can be innoculated by nasal spray seems to confirm that it is intentionally malign. If the vaccine is safe and efficacious, won't it be very harmful if masses of them don't receive it? They claim that it is a fake pandemic; or else it was caused by lab geeks who dug up bodies who died of the 1918 flu, and mutated it on purpose. I don't know...
The past eight years (and longer, truth to tell) have created conditions in which many of us have felt a bit paranoid for believing what was right before our eyes; that was one of the worst legacies we were left with. But these folks are taking paranoia to a 'whole-nother-level.'
Talk me down off this ledge, if you can. All of you with cable may see things like this all the time, and have become inured to them. This program and its links, which I watched this morning, through my over-the-air antenna, are freaking me out. Are these well-armed people who truly believe they are modern-day Minutemen creating self-fulfilling prophecy, just a few ticks off from their fevered, paranoid imaginings? How many are there?
And how can we talk them down?

Well, if you're going to watch 'out there TV' you apparently need to be prepared to hear some reality mixed in with tinfoil hat BS.
I received an email from a woman that talked about the swine flu virus being used to inject microchips into everyone blah, blah, blah. I asked PCA to look into it and he served up the sources and said he felt it was completely bogus.
What's tough about the reality of things right now is that we know some things are terribly wrong, backwards, and upside down so I can't just completely dismiss everything out of hand and figuring out what is really going on is pretty difficult.
Class warfare is lining up to being at critical stages. Distrust is fostered by this.
My only guideline to deal with stuff like this Wendy is to ask people that I trust, that I feel know more than I do about such things, to tell me what they think about it just as you have done by writing this blog.
Wish I could be of more help

I just mean is junk like this as dangerous as it seemed to me at 11:00 last night? Was I over-reacting to one program, or are millions of people actually watching and believing these ideas?
Micro-chips in a shot would take apretty big needle! Everyone knows that you just cut a couple layers of the lower arm or neck dermis to insert them... ;-}

okay well it was a nano chip or some such thing... sorry I should have reread it first to give the info.

Hi Wendy - I addressed some of the H1N1 issues in a recent blog item:
http://tpmcafe.talkingpointsmemo.com/talk/blogs/fredmoolten/2009/10/faith-healing-does-not-prevent.php
Regarding mandatory vaccination, that had been instituted briefly (in New York State, I believe) for healthcare workers in hospitals and other venues. However, the requirement has apparently been dropped, in part because of the shortage of H1N1 vaccines. A requirement for this and other vaccinations has been a policy within some healthcare institutions themselves. Most healthcare workers would conscientiously seek vaccination without a requirement, based on their obligation to serve the public health.

Thanks, fred; I had read your blog on the subject. I was looking more for ideas on how wide-spread these paranoias have spread. My daughter has three small children, and can't find any vaccine for them. It ssems so strange that on one hand, you have so many people who are taking precautions against the threat, and others who are seeing it as a giant plot to kill us all.
I'm not even disrespecting the fact that some of us have had bad experiences from flu shots; I had one day googles to see if there were any evidence of bad reactions from the vaccine for my daughter, and found relatively little. Today when I use the extreme terms I saw on this teevee program and websites, I can tons of hits. It has me really concerned.

My apologies, Wendy, for not answwering your larger question in my desire to refute anti-vaccination propaganda. I believe these paranoias have always been out there, but are reinforced by the ease of rapid communication these days. It's my impression that cable TV is a minor concern compared with talk radio and the Internet, which are cheaper resources. Almost any conspiracy you can imagine can quickly find thousands of supporters on the web who convince each other of the merits of their cause. Vaccination paranoia or the New World Order are just a few of the delusions that circulate, which include the belief that 9/11 was orchestrated by the Bush Administration, that the moon landing was a hoax, and that the government is spraying toxins from jet aircraft on an unsuspecting population in the form of "chemtrails" (you can google it). Plus of course the old standbys - the hoax of global warming and the hoax of evolution.

Well, I truly did not know that this was an old paranoia. I am glad to hear it, in a way. I would hate to see it catch on. I can respect informed decisions, but the current amount of suspicions about our society and government seem to spread like wildfire. My county is chock full of people to whom these are 'facts'. The local paper reads like worldnetdaily.

Prior to about 1980, a memorandum or paper for a meeting was usually written in longhand and typed by the secretarial pool. Even when Xeroxed, it was obvious that it had been typed.
Around 1980, it became possible to send a file from a mini-computer to a mainframe and have it printed on a Xerox 9700, one of the first laser printers, down in the data center. This produced a phototypeset document that was indistinguishable from what one would see in a printed book or journal.
It was notable that when a paper was presented in an informal meeting, the impact and veracity attributed to it, and the likely agreement with its content, were much enhanced by going to the modest additional trouble of sending it to the laser printer. People just believed it more because it looked like it was authoritative.
Just like the declining cost of technology brought laser printing to the masses (and the above phenomena no longer exists because laser printers are so common) the declining cost of video production and distribution has brought authoritative looking video to the masses. Simply because some realistic looking video arrives "over the air" does not mean that you should believe a bit of it.
But as Marshall McLuhan said, "The medium is the message."

I must have written this terribly. What I am asking is since these folks are on even over-the-air television, Isn't there message bound to be seen widely.
I AM NOT ASKING WHETHER WHAT THEY ARE CONCLUDING IS TRUE!

A political or religious crackpot with a modest budget can go on the air with production values equivalent to Walter Cronkite when he was the most trusted man in America.
The guy who holds forth at the corner of the neighborhood bar can pontificate to the whole world in video on the internet.
We are currently in the transition where we are learning to discriminate among speakers in the new digital media era.
I'm hopeful that the world at large will take them no more seriously than the inhabitants of "Cheers" took Cliff Clavin.

I agree. All propaganda mixes in just enough truth to seem legitimate, but the logical progression is something like:
"Illuminati are turning the air we breathe into split-pea soup. How can we doubt it? Are you denying the existence of split-pea soup? Are you denying there is AIR? If so, what do we breathe?!"
It's the "if A is B, then C is K" double-talk so favored by Hollywood and sidewalk shell-game hustlers.
Doesn't all this belief in an all-powerful, global conspiracy soften and pad a fading belief in a god or gods? Don't we need someone or something pulling the strings?

This is what I understand about the H1N1 vaccine from a local tv news segment I saw the other day.....
The injection type vaccine carries a dead virus. Even though the virus is dead, you still might get mild, flu like symptoms, but you do not have the flu. It was said that experiencing the mild, flu like symptoms after receiving an injected vaccine is the body's way of letting you know the vaccine is working. Your body is building a resistance to the flu.
The nasal vaccine carries a live virus in a very weakened form. If you do experience flu-like symptoms after getting the nasal vaccine, keep an eye on yourself and if the symptoms exacerbate, see your doctor asap.
As for the wild stuff on tv....Wendy, I live around people that honest to gawd believe crap like what you describe. Some of them believe the government controls the weather, fer cryin' out loud. Everything is a government conspiracy to them. They are irrational and paranoid and when every so often they come out of the woods to stock up on caffeine, ammo, and chaw, I run and hide.
In the last decade, since the rise of internet use, their little 'cells' have grown into a web of sorts. They're connected. I'm not at all surprised they have sifted their way into television....which kinda says more about us than it does about them. I mean, why do folks watch crazy stuff like that? Well, why do they watch Fox News, for that matter.
Some days, when I think about it, it scares the crap out of me and I wonder if I'm the one with the conspiracy theory. Well, me and the FBI.

Thank you flower. That was my point: how many people are being convinced about their crazy rants? I was imagining Colorado Springs, where my daughter and her family live. They have lots of H1N1 cases, largely die to all the military bases there. Many schools have closed down for a week or two at a time. Given that this flu can jump up to twenty feet, if lots of people there didn't get vaccinated and got the flu, how far could it spread? There are also lots of headquarters for fundamentalist churches there. I wonder if they take a position of the vaccine. Seems like they take a position on everything else!
This county has lots of them, too; teabaggers, birchers, etc. They get this program as well. I am just so confused; I didn't know they were on mainstream teevee!
All the rest of the commenters made me think they thought poor wendy has gone twiggy. Thanks for taking my alarm seriously.

The one website advertised gold and silver, a safe bet for stashers. The silver could be purchased as coins with the bust of Ron Paul, and said 'End the Fed.'
Did you see the part about Rand Paul (Ron's son) runnung for Senate for Jim Bunnings seat? Think SArah Palin will endorse him?

I have a good friend who believes some version of the H1N1 conspiracy theory. I mean, a real live friend. Not a neighbor, not a crazy uncle, not an acquaintance, not an online friendly stranger I have never actually met. I mean a genuine friend. An educated, professional person with whom I have lots in common. I listen to her in amazement. I don't support or refute, I just listen. I let her talk about it. I think she first heard about it on the radio.

There was really nasty group of people in our valley a number of years ago who practiced a bogus healing technique call Biomagnetcs (a borrowed term) headed by a former gold-assayist-shyster. They claimed they could cure AIDS, and anything else. The leader. an ugly, dark, man was convicted of raping 7 female clients/students, but that's another story. He had a film called, I think, 'The Sryker Report' that he showed often in the valley, claiming AIDS was an intentinally manufactured virus. I would like to think not.
Is it possible that it's easier to believe in a conspiracy than either errors in flawed medical theories (MRSA) or the randomness of evolution? I mean, viruses think they're people, too! ;-}
By the way, after you talked about working on homeless issues, and living in NYC, I have thought so much, and tried to picture what life in a teeming metropolis is like. I haven't been to a city for so many years, and I live in a tiny canyon outside a tiny town with one stoplight, which was installed 6 years ago. Hell, we just began to adding a 3 number prefix to local phone calls a decade ago! Up until then, four digits'd get ya there!
I swear, I can't take in and sort that much stimulus any more. I am in awe of those of you who can and do.
