Hitler did not really want concentration camps

We are all sorely aware of the position Jews put him in.

You really need to get better at sarcasm. My TPM opens directly into TPMCafe, and reading your post made me wanted to just rip your head off and flush it down the shitter. Then I saw the front page and realized what you were doing.

The problem is this. Our rhetoric is so debased that it is hard to go after a Nazi like Buchanan directly. We have to find ways to make concrete what his words mean.

Sorry, my finger slipped on this one, didn't mean to rec. I may after I read the front page, but for right now...sorry.

Okay, now I rec it...short, to the point.

I went to Germany several years ago. Just out of curiosity I looked in a phone book. I didn't find one entry under "Hilter" as a last name.

Could all the Hitlers be dead? Or did they just change their names to Buchanan?

Hitler was born in Linz, Austria. But you should have looked up the number of Fuckers in the phonebook ... I'm serious - it's a common last name.

Probably not many Hliters either.

Hitler's family tree is here:
http://history1900s.about.com/library/holocaust/nhitanc.htm

The story seems to be that Hitler's father was originally named Schicklgruber after his Mother instead of Heidler after his father. This is explicable because he was born five years before the ultimate Heidler-Schicklgruber marriage (and so leaving his actual paternity in dispute). Schicklgruber officially changed his name in 1877 to Hitler.

And four of five of Hitler's siblings died in infancy. So between that and the non-standard spelling and the notoriety it would not be surprising is any remaining Hitler's in Germany quietly reverted to older spellings. Hitler did have a sister that lived to 1960.

They did change their names but then all moved to America and hijacked the Republican Party. That's the only explanation for how the Republican leadership have become so fucking insane. They live for power, spend their entire lives attaining it and then wield it so ineptly. Sound familiar?
