Credit where credit is due

Over the last few months, I have attacked Obama's policy decisions on the stimulus and many of his appointees repeatedly. So far I think that criticism is richly deserved. But his reiteration today that engagement must be our starting policy with regards to Iran policy is really welcome, just as his willingness to talk to Hamas, and his reiterated commitment to closing Guantanamo (hopefully he is not just putting it on a slow track). These are glimmers of some positive significant change.

We have him. We won't release him until you part with all Obama memorabilia.

user-pic

OJ has all my memorabilia. I left it in some hotel room.

user-pic

I concede. Your one-liners beat mine by a lot. I am going back to attacking Obama.

user-pic

He is pretty clever, isn't he? Don't tell 'im I said so, it goes to his head!

user-pic

That was one of the funniest comments I've heard in... Oh... Me not know.

user-pic

Laszlo gets the Rec for the self-flagellation. (Top value for money.)

But Dick gets the Oscar for that OJ line. Crying.

user-pic

Come on, Quinn, this isn't even warm-up action. Crank up the heat. Or take to the ice. Feels like Johnny Carson in slow-mo. Here comes Ed....

user-pic

You're just pissed coz you didn't get the Oscar.

I still got one for "best sound-editing in a foreign documentary not involving the wanton mistreatment of dwarfs."

so all is not lost.

user-pic

Dude, you owe me a new keyboard. :-)

user-pic

One liners don't hurt keyboards, clumsy laughers hurt keyboards.

What the hell do you think Quinn has done to my keyboard? Several times.

user-pic

Hey Vlaszlo, they almost shut you down. They thought you were selling car loans.

I concur!

I hope that this means his allegiance to the anti-Iran rhetoric he engaged in during the campaign has now come to an end. Granted, he was always open to talking, but the almost mindless talk about what a threat Iran is, has never made any sense. If they represent any sort of threat it is because we forced them to become as they are. If there is any one nation in that region that ought to be our natural ally it is Iran. The only reason it isn't is because of our horrendous record of manipulation, disrespect, abuse and exploitation of that nation, it's people and resources. I hope Obama can sit down with them, reason with them and make them into the friends they ought to be with us.

One worry of course is the role of neocon Dennis Ross who I understand has been a leader of the attack-Iran grouping.
