Wattree this is good , really good. Thomas Paine would be proud of you. And as long as we have folks like you not only speaking , but speaking up , we are going to be alright. We are always in a ad hoc war of right against wrong. And it can never be won or lost. But those of us that feel we are on the right side have a duty to show up every day and fight the other side. You showed up and spoke up and you're doing your part very well. The things you say will inspire people to consider otherwise and do the right thing. And you're very brave to address this issue of American pomposity. But I too am very proud to be an American. But I realize that our great American idea is still greater then our American reality and we need to look more to achieve that great American idea. This is a absolutely great post.

I already accepted in 2002 that these assholes were going to spy on the American people. That's what the program is in my opinion that they're worried about. It's clear to me that the Cheney/Bush adminastration were more interested in "pimping" and pigeon holing the American people then any kind of action against the so called "terrorist". To the Cheney/Bush adminastration the American people were way more threat then any Al Queda. Remember DickDay our Barack hasn't did a damn thing to quell the power that the Cheney/Bush adminastration choose to maintain. Barack maintains every executive power they had and more. Barack also refuses to address the breaking of the law by the same adminastration.

The right thing to have always done would have been to have our American Supreme court reflect the American people in more real terms then it has did in our American past. I would never accept a all Hispanic court for the same reasons I never accepted the other.

I'm a realist DickDay. The relationship between those that really run our country and those of us who are forced to accept the consequences is as much of a "war" as any literal war; for real. I'm not saying that the American people are not somewhat responsible for our current reality but we have paid our share in my opinion and our "dear leaders" have not. And that is in all of American history. If "God" did come back and reign over all the world he would relaize that the number one problem with the world is the lack of enlightened leadership. And our leaders are not going to do right by the Amereican people unless we fight them and insist.

No other American group , any group , operated under such a presumption of respectability then our elected leadership. Well maybe the Catholic clergy but they also screwed that up. Michael Jackson happens to be worth way more money in death then he was at the end of his pitiful and mostley lonely life. And the people handling his so called "legacy" know this. I'm being funny and fictitious when I say this. But when my Gay daughter comes home with her partner , where she is completely welcomed as is her partner , I always wait to feel "the threat to my marriage"; it never happens. I like the attitude in what Old Grouch said. "These self- righteous , preening closet cases infuriate me to no end." I hate them too.

But dickday what's up with a obviously Gay Senator like Lindsey Graham not only denying who he really is but "attacking" , at many levels , Gay people and the Gay culture. It's akin to something like what happens to some Black people in America who , as a result of having been raised in a country that's obviously hostile to them , they buckle under this type of treatment and the effect is you have Black people that end up not appreciating who they are as people and , in fact , end up being "closet haters" of who they are. In my opinion this is a defiant state to have yourself in. So what I'm saying is that Lindsey Graham in the end is hating himself. In time this behavior is going to come back and effect Lindsey Graham adversely. Just like the warehouse suit guy says; I guarantee it.

Would a man rape a women or a child if the women or the child could kick his ass? Any reasonable person will arrive at the answer that's appropriate and right. Men rape because they have the power to. Closer to home , here in Minnesota , I can remember in the early seventies and around the University of Minnesota , which is my Alma Mater , men were being found that had been assaulted by a group of women and they had had their penises cut off. I guarantee you if women could unite and cut off some "dicks" in South Africa it would go a long way to "establish" control now wouldn't it.

The American people have not hit the streets since the 60's and 70's; I was there and it was great. I think that it was the only time in American history that those that "govern" were really worried. That's right they were even more worried then when the "Rebels" were on the rise in the 19th century. And because we don't have the will to fight back anymore I guareentee you that this is the biggest reason that our leaders feel they only have to pretend to pay attention to us and just feign like they really even care about the common American person. Remember the Americans that feel they are running shit feel that we are here at their behest and not the reverse. Until we find a way to fight back we deserve what we are not getting; fairly.
