Alex Is A Lying Cheating Piece Of Yankee Shit

I was ten years old and playing Midget baseball. My position was in center field and the ball was hit to me. I positioned myself to make the catch and taped the glove like I had saw the pros do before they caught the ball. I prepared to catch the "can of corn". Boom I missed the catch and the ball went right past my glove and hit me right in the forehead. I was down and crying and the coach came to my rescue. He got me together and the game was restarted. The very next hit was to me , again , in center field; a beautiful fly ball and another "can of corn". Bam the same thing; the ball went right by my glove and cracked me right in the forehead. This time when the coach came out and got me back together he moved me to third base. He told me that you're not an outfielder and that you will be an infielder. I played third base for my entire baseball and softball playing career. I'm sixty and I still play and love the game. I still play third base and Brooks Robinson, third base for the Baltimore Orioles , is still my all time baseball hero. I love and respect the game still.

Does Alex Rodriquez respect the game? My believe is that Alex Rodriquez is a lying piece of Yankee shit. Now I will admit to my anti Yankee feelings. I was raised in 1950's and 1960's America. Most kids outside of New York were "Yankee haters". The Yankees have always represented the aristocracy of baseball. They were the pampered , and the upper crust of baseball and they acted like their "shit didn't stink". The Yankees were the team we most wanted to see pounded into the ground. Alex Rodriquez epitomizes this historical Yankee hate that I have for good reason and represent much of what is bad about baseball today.

Alex represents what is wrong in America. Much of our American business community as proven themselves to be the lying , cheaters that they are. Alex is a lying , cheating Yankee baseball player. I saw the entire press conference that he held. I didn't have any problem seeing Alex for the liar that he is. And I do not believe all the malarkey about "I was just young and ignorant". Bullshit. Alex as been a premiere player for all of his baseball playing career. For him to plea that he was unaware of norms and practices in baseball that most to all players become familiar with in high school and college is simply a lie in my opinion. Fuck Alex "Steroid King" Rodriquez. It's people like him that fuck up our great American game.

Now look I have no real issue with steroid taking; it's fine as far as I'm really concerned. The problem is that these baseball "drug addicts" want to be accepted as though they were not taking anything. So they want it both ways. They want to be perceived as though they were natural athletes. And they all said that Canseco was full of shit. Canseco had it right all the time.

So here's my suggestion to the "chemical baseball players". Why don't you guys start your own steroid league. We need to separate the natural and true athletes from the "chemical kings". The "chemical kings' need to play with themselves. They can have their own game and play it and shoot the fuck up as much as they want. So then they would all be on the steroids together playing in the steroid league. They would then loose the steroid edge because everybody would be on them. So you see some would have to then seek the next level of drugs or whatever was available to cheat and attempt to raise the level of their game in unnatural ways.

Alex cheated and then he lied. And he's not the only one. We know what the "Rocket" had in his tank and we heard him lie to Congress about steroid taking. And their were others. And their are other areas of sport were this kind of behavior is becoming more prevalent. And I feel that the athletes that look for the advantage through unfair means and get caught and then lie about it represent all that is wrong with our country. Alex is not the only lying cheater in the American continuum. From the White House to the Outhouse we have a lot of lying pieces of shit in our America. My Grandpa would say take them all to the "Woodshed". When you went to the "Woodshed" with my Grandpa you came out of there holding your ass and you would cry yourself to sleep. You figure it out.

So I don't believe the drama and the fake crying by Alex Rodriquez. He got caught and that's his problem; he didn't fess up until he had to. And Alex and the others just need to accept the fact that they are liars and cheaters. And they no longer deserve to have the respect of the American fans they play in front. They no longer deserve the respect of the  players who they play with who choose to play the game under honorable conditions. Alex is just a lying , cheating piece of Yankee shit.

*Sigh* Can we leave the Yankees out of this? Alex did this stuff while he was a Ranger. Most Yankee fans tolerate A-Rod, but he's not a "Yankee". He (like Clemens) is a journeyman who travels wherever he can get the most money. Jeter, Mariano, Joba - those are Yankees. A-Rod is an embarassment we are stuck with long-term.

And I think there's at least 104 other players out there that deserve your disdain too. Waiting for those names to be released to the public anyday now.

You're absolutley right. I think my "Yankee Hating" overtook me for a moment.

I like the idea of a steroid league, I have proposed it for years, I call it the steroid and spitball league. Cheat as much as you can. Seems to be the american way.

A little angry at Arod!!! We all knew something was cookin with McGuire and Sosa. Then Bonds put on 50 pounds of muscle one winter and....

Sometimes I see it as cheating. Sometimes I see it as a science fiction movie. Here is a guy who signs a contract for a quarter of a billion bucks. After he pissed on a k for what, one hundred fifty mill?

The funny part of this is that all those contracts have clauses that include commercial endorsements so that the team can get some of the money back. And how many cereal boxes did Barry lose out on?

My guess is he loses money under some contract provisions. In those minor league movies they call it 'The Show". Hell the Babe who I feel is the greatest baseball player of all time because of hits, home runs, walks, extra base hits, and 93 wins in the majors as a pitcher; never had to play with the stars of the Negro Leagues--except in exhibition games. And at one time more than half of all major league players were Black.

Was there ever a level playing field?

I have to agree with you though, in the end this is another example of a Republican value: Do not get caught. Of course dems like Burris are not helping me much with that mantra.

Ya know, even though I despise the Red Sox with a boat load of venom, I do not and have never stated out loud that they were Red Sox "Shit". I wonder how low a person has to be to HATE a team, to HATE individual players that you've never met and know very little about. That must suck to be you Viper, it must really suck.

And I totally agree dijamo!! Clemens and Aturd may have worn the uniform but will never be Yankees and are just lying, cheating, cash hungry punks, kinda like the other infamous cheater Brian Belichick.

Hating the Yankees is a fun past time in and of itself but in this case (as a lifelong Cardinal fan with a soft place in my heart for the Red Sox developed while in college in Boston)I have to say the hated Yankees were no better or worse than anyone else when it comes to this topic.

In my opinion, the worst thing about the entire steroid controversey is the massive hypocrisy... not of the players though they are certainly hypocritical about this, but of the managers and owners who knew exactly what was going on in all their clubhouses and were perfectly happy to let it go on, rules or no rules, if it improved their win/loss record and their bottom line.

I saw a Bob Costas HBO show about this topic sometime in the past year that included Bob Gibson and Joe Garagiola and someone else I don't recall. They were, of course, accomplished players in their day. While Costas and the rest belted out the standard anti-steroid rhetoric, only one of them deviated and that was the legendary Bob Gibson who stated flatly that he understood the motivation of the players and that if steroids were around when he played and he thought that might give him an edge, he would certainly have tried them. This stunned the others and to be honest it stunned me, but Gibby's candor and political incorrectness on the topic was refreshing.

Don't get me wrong, I think steroids are bad all around. But is it any surprise at all that athletes use them when the emphasis is so heavily weighted toward winning at all costs? And speaking of winning at all costs, isn't it a bit surprising that the Yankees didn't see a helluva lot more of this drug abuse given the team's storied history of sparing no expense and going to any length to win?

I completley understand your viewpoint and anger at A-rod and others for their hypocrisy and dishonesty. But given the atmosphere and ethos of the business they are in I can't get too upset over it all.

On a lighter note, I got a kick out of Keith Olberman calling him "A-roid" last night!

As another lifelong Cards & Red Sox fan, can we just skip the fair & balanced and put the boots to the Yankees? So much more fun.

;-)

It ain't about "winning at all costs". It's about fame, staying in the big leagues and making as much as money as you can for as long as you can.
Ask Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa.

And if you want a poster boy for a manager looked the other way there's sadly Tony Larussa.

The White Sox picked up an old reliever a couple years ago, Gene Nelson?, the guy who got in a fight with fans in the Red Sox bullpen when he was playing for the Yankees in 2004. The sent him to triple A hoping to get his arm in shape quickly cuz their ML bullpen was a shambles.

Then that reliever in AZ got busted and spilled the beans about drug use, and Nelson went ballistic in an interview he never should have given. "You don't rat out your friends". After about three weeks when it was obvious Nelson wasn't going to be able to once again "miraculously" regain his stuff the Sox quietly let him go.

Good lord. Who cares?

These guys will do anything to get an edge and stay ahead of the thousands who will take their place in an instant.

What is the great crime? Is this so different than doctoring the ball, stealing signs, amphetamines, etc.? Players are ultimately just trying to perform better, and win more games for the fans.

Sure they cheated, but let's not make a huge deal out of it. It's a sport. Entertainment. Period.

I care! I coach little league and pee wee and it IS important and the kids care! It's not just entertainment to children, they see the actions of these clowns and how they get away with everything and STILL get paid more than anyone else in the universe, other than CEO's and they think they can skate on wrongs they are involved with. Who cares? What an ass you are!!
