Bill Richardson just gets no break
First, he wasn't going to be the Democratic nominee. Then, the VP. Then, the Secretary of State. And now he's not going to be the Secretary of Commerce either. What's next?

This really sucks. He was incrediyl qualified to be SoC and Obama picked him for that reason. Also, when Obama picked him, this with hunt investigation was already public. Richardson has had too good a career to be considered cursed but... this is wrong.

There are few coincidences in politics.
The New Mexico USAttorney slot was part and parcel of the USAttorney scandal.
That this would break at this time - three weeks before the Bush appointee gets cashiered - raises questions that go beyond timing.
These questions are as troubling as the issues in the investigation of Richardson.
