I don't know about you, but every since the election everything in my
life, then, before, and beyond, has been forever changed. So, because
of that, whenever I reference the past or the future from this point
on it will always be "Before Obama (B.O.)" or "After Obama (A.O.)". That's
the time frame I live in now. Welcome.

What's the deal with TPM!? Every time I try to post a my blog I get an server error message. Then I come to find out that my post had in fact been posted on the blog sphere.
So in advance I apologize for all the repost. But it's really not my fault gang

I'm not a religious fellow, but I find it strange that the "Grand Old
Party" at last nights republican convention would mock Obama for his,
and for that matter all community organizers, chosen path in life. The
preach so much about religion, and god, and country. Do they fail to
understand, or realize, or remember, or care that if it wasn't for
community organizers like Jesus and his disciples then they wouldn't
have wedge issues to spew forth every four years. Or a reason to
oppose abortion or stem cell research. Do they not recognize their
blasphemous rhetoric?
Over course not. To do so would not be republican.
Discuss.

You know, new things come to light everyday about Mrs. Palin. And the
one thing that sticks out the most is the alleged deception of her
fifth pregnancy.
I find it sad and discouraging that so many of you in TPM community
would be so condescending of a fellow blogger. I am aware that there
are trolls out there, and also repub perpetrators, but goddamn lighten
up will ya. Obviously John Nail has something to say and is not flying
off the cuff here. I mean, this story has been circulating in Alaska
since the beginning of this year. He also comes up with some very good
resources that, if you would do some research of your own, could
ultimately be proven right or wrong. There's absolutely no reason to
degrade this blog or its writer. All of you who have written demeaning
responses are just as bad, or worse, than the neocons who have for all
these years done and said any and everything in their power to
discredit the left and/or liberals. You all are going to be feeling
pretty bad when all this turns out, and I think it will, to be somewhat
if not completely proven to be true.
I am aware of the whole Larry Sinclair scandal and remember how hurt
and worried I was was when I first read about. But we as free thinkers
and independent bloggers should not try to sequester information that
we deem bogus or false, on the contrary, we should get it out and find
the facts and the truth. Not do truth we want but the truth et al. So
back off, or at least go easy, and have some courtesy for our fellow
bloggers. We are not the republicans.
John Nail, blog what you want. True or not. For that's why we are called bloggers...and not the Main Stream Media.

Every four years we get a Democrat who says that they are going to take the high road in the Presidential election. And every four years we get a Republican President. Now let me be clear, I am an avid Obama supporter. I believe he has the right ideas and can lead this country in the right direction. I remain optimistic that he will pull this out and will win this. But the repeated attacks be the republicans that have gone unanswered, sometimes up to a week, cause me great concern.
I keep telling myself that maybe Barack has something up his sleeves. And if I trust him to be president, then I should trust he knows what he's doing. But then that would make me know better than a loyal Bush follower. So I give pause and voice my opinion on such matters. Whether they be flattering or not quite so.
I want to see some hard hitting. I want to see McCain lose his temper. I want to see McCain called out on all his hypocrisy. I want to see Barack Obama obliterate the Republican party and their ideas. I want to see the person that I vote for FINALLY win.
I find myself becoming disillusioned once more.

I moan and groan every time I see another article about V.P. speculation. Because that's all it is. I purposely ignore them because who really knows...besides the candidates themselves and their closest of aids. But lately it all seems to be reaching a crescendo. The noise and chatter has gotten so loud that every news organization and blog sphere has it as their top story. Really? Speculation is news?
Well I can't take it anymore. I'm going to put all this speculation talk to rest. I'm going to tell you who Barack Obamas' V.P. will be. Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like to re-introduce you to...General George William Casey, Jr.
Who is General George William Casey, Jr.? And why does he need to be re-introduced you may ask. Well, if you recall a few years ago, the General was the first Commanding General of the Multi-National Forces in Iraq. He served from June 2004 to February 2007. His strategy was to help the Iraqis establish a stable government so that U.S. forces could begin withdrawing. He was quoted as saying, "The longer we in the U.S. forces continue to bear the main burden of
Iraq’s security, it lengthens the time that the government of Iraq has
to take the hard decisions about reconciliation and dealing with the
militias. And the other thing is that they can continue to blame us for
all of Iraq’s problems, which are at base their problems. It’s always
been my view that a heavy and sustained American military presence was
not going to solve the problems in Iraq over the long term." Well that didn't sit well with the current administration. General Casey was basically forced out of his commanding position due to his opposition to the "Surge" and replaced with a lap doggish commander that would say, and do, whatever the Bush administration told him to...General Petraeus.
Currently, General Casey is the Chief of Staff of the United States Army. He still continues to voice his oppositions to a prolonged American presence in Iraq.
Tid-Bit:
General Casey was in Chicago on May 28 of this year(2008) to take part in that city's observance of Memorial Day. There, he recited the Pledge of Allegiance and marched in a parade along with Chicago Mayer Richard Daley Note: Tid-Bit information courtesy Wikipedia.
So, whadaya think? Did I hit a home run?

For the first time in American history, an African-American is the presumptive nominee of a major political party for president of these United States. I am just so overwhelmed and overjoyed that I am alive to report this monumental happening. Even more so because I participated in the process and I didn't sit idly by and wait until it was my time to vote. I truly feel and believe that America accepts me and those like me. It feels good to have a home.
P.S.: For those of you who might respond and say some idiotic crap that I should have always felt like America was my home, I say screw you. If you don't get it, or understand, how an American can say or feel like this then you are not a true American. And I question YOUR patronage. Watch Bill Moyers op-ed on the double standard between Rev. Wright/Obama and Rev. Hagee/McCain. Maybe that will enlighten you.

I have been sitting here pondering why Mrs. Clinton is backing a ridiculous gas tax plan and making comments like "obliterate" another country. And I have finally come up with an answer...she wants out of this race. That's it! Of course she's not going to get out of this thing if people are still voting for her ,so, she's giving people something to vote against her on.
It all makes perfect sense. It gives her a talking point and an easy way out without explanation. I mean even Joe Trippi has been saying in retrospect that he should have persuaded John Edwards to tough it out a bit longer. Although that is a might different situation. No one was voting for John anyways. But my point is is that all of this is so blatantly clear and obvious. She wants people to vote against her instead of her calling it quits. That way she never has to explain why she dropped out if she was winning or look back and kick herself for doing so.

Here's a great, and hilarious, music video about John.
It's by the group
Max and the Marginalized. Pay them a visit and tell them what you thought of the vid.

Ok, I can't take it anymore. Clinton picked Eight Bell to win, place,
and show at the Kentucky Derby. The horse came in second, broke it's
ankles after the finish line, and had to be put down.
Now,
people are drawing comparisons to Hillary and the now euthenized
filly. People are making some comments that, some, might find
offensive and/or inappropriate. I, for one, don't. I am more outraged
in the fact that people are more upset about this dead horse than about
the comment that Hillary recently made about obliterating Iran.
Do
you understand what I am saying? Hillary said, "In the next 10
years, during which they might foolishly consider launching an attack
on Israel, we would be able to totally obliterate them." WHAT!? Then she follows up with this, "That's a terrible thing to say but those people who
run Iran need to understand that because that perhaps will deter them
from doing something that would be reckless, foolish and tragic." Wow. She's basically talking about murder...and genocide.
Say
what you will about the government of Iran, and it's religious
fanatics, but talking about killing innocent people...many who love the
U.S.A.. Who don't agree with their elected officials. Many who want
peace just as much as we do. And you have become no better than those
we are trying to defeat. She wants to obliterate them, their way of
life, their culture, their hopes and dreams. Kill the many for the
dislike of a few?
So you see, I don't give a SHIT about a horse that lived the high life and probably got treated better than me. But I do give a shit about my fellow human being.
So,
say what you want about that horse and its outcome. I for one know
that whatever you say, it can't be as horrendous and despicable as what
Hillary recently said about Iran.
Let's put things into perspective. I recommend that you read my other post about Bill Moyer. It will help.

This link to a recent Bill Moyer op-ed is a must see for everyone. He speaks about the American double standard that we all know and see but say nothing about. I have to admit that I really never watched Bill before, but after what he said in this piece I feel ashamed that I have ignored such an educated, thoughtful, and observant person. People like this have my heart and mind. He gets it. He understands. True American. True journalism.
If you can't view the link then head over to Daily Kos. They have the transcript.

Here are some solutions to help Americans at the gas pump this summer:
1. Introduce legislation to give people mass transit vouchers that can be used throughout the work.
2. Invest in alternative energy resources like solar, wind, hydrogen.
3. Walk or ride a bike when you can. You don't need a vehicle to go to the convince store.
4. GET AN F'n SMALLER CAR! Why do you need and SUV? All you are doing is complaining about how high gas is and now you want a gas tax suspension? Why, so that you can drive on the road...the road that after this summer because of the gas tax holiday will be in need of desperate repair but we won't have the funds to repair because you saved $20 dollars at the PUMP!!!!!!!
Yeeeeaaah, I got'cha gas tax holiday Right Hee'ya
Oh, feel free to add anymore if you can think of'em.
