Source behind John Edwards' $400 haircut story revealed
BARACK OBAMA (APRIL, 2008): "It's easy to get caught up in the distractions and the silliness and the tit-for-tat that consumes our politics; the bickering that none of us are immune to, and that trivializes the profound issues -- two wars, an economy in recession, a planet in peril,"

And your point? All things considered, it's like the Obama staff stated - a fluke they discovered it, but by far not the 'dirt' that was out there!
Can't figure out your goal here.....

I think it's just to show that Obama and his organization were just as petty and spiteful as the rest... and that they weren't the clean, "different" organization they liked to protray themselves as. Not much of a revelation really since I doubt many believed that kind of nonsense anyway.

You're going to rail against a fluke?
And Americans were feigning belief? Why that would be un-American.

That's what happens when you read Politico - you start to think that gossip. innuendo, and high-school style hijinks are actually news.
I guess they're trying to absolve themselves from the sin of cheapening the political discourse. As in, "See! It wasn't ME that uncovered this "story". I was spoon-fed the story by those awful opposition researchers, and all I did was dutifully transcribed it in my column. But, boy-o-boy, did it drive my traffic up!".
NEWSFLASH! Politico drives the cheapening of the public "conversation", they are not a victim of it.
The worst part of Politico, though, is that I can't wrap dead fish in it or line my birdcage with it - it truly is useless.
