New USA Today/Gallup poll: 61% of Americans don't think Obama deserved Nobel award
Because the DNC says that if you disagree that Obama deserved the Nobel Prize, you side with the Taliban:

Greenwald's so far off base on this one he's not even in the stadium.
There's a HUGE difference between stifling dissent by claiming that criticism of a government's policies means one is in solidarity with that country's enemies, and reacting to ridiculous, personality-based criticism of a person by demonstrating that only a tiny minority of the world's population, a minority that includes those same enemies, are leveling that criticism.
Greenwald's an absolutist, and that can be a good thing. But context matters, and in this case, context is everything. Greenwald's criticism is humorless and totally without merit.

Are you reacting that way because you love Obama with fervent passion?

I'm on record saying the award was "ridiculous."
I'm reacting that way for the reasons outlined in my comment above. Plus, I'm a regular reader of GG, so I'm aware of his outlook and style.
I'm also tired of Democrats being bitch slapped in the media day after day, and turning the rhetorical tables on the R's when a non-issue like this one is involved, is fine and just.
If there was a real question of policy involved, then I might agree that the comparisons were inappropriate. But, what is the issue here? Are Republicans really criticizing the award because they feel Obama is a warmonger, or are they merely leveling more "pretty speech, no action" or "liberals just looooove the Halfrican liberal" type criticism? I say it's the latter, and it doesn't deserve a principled response.
Glenn getting his knickers in a knot over this indicates he's looking for things to gin up the outrage about. What's your excuse?

Sorry. If I would have known that you are morbidly obsessed with Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize, as YOUR six blog posts ON THE TOPIC indicate, I would not have commented.
But, since I have, and since you were a dick in response, I guess I'll just end by saying:
OBAMA WON THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE!!!!
AND ANYONE WHO DOESN'T LIKE IT CAN GO SUCK IT!!!!
WOO!!! WOO!!! USA!!! USA!!!

I hadn't realized how many times you had posted about Obama's Nobel Prize.

Obama doesn't deserve the peace prize. There isn't any peace. The award was as ridiculous as awarding it to Kissinger.

Nobody who has received the award has achieved peace.

Go figger. Revoke 'em all.
I wonder if Americans ever get past a 30% approval rating on winners of that prize.
Spiteful bunch
=D

And your point? Whether he deserved it or not really doesn't matter does it. It wasn't his choice or his decision. Got an issue take it to the Nobel committee.
Talk about trying to yet again kill a dead horse that has been beaten so much by both sides you can no longer recognize as a horse.

People are still polling on this? WTF???

60% of those polled in the US say that they are not going to get vaccinated against H1N1. 43% of those polled in the US don't think climate change is real.
In the case of H1N1, you make a personal decision to get vaccinated and hope that the un-vaccinated people don't pass H1N1 to others. You hope that the un-vaccinated pregnant women and children don't have bad outcomes.
In the case of climate change denial, you merely shrug your shoulders in disbelief and move on. You also realize that "Superfreakonomics", the sequel to "Freakonomics" has 44 pages devoted to climate change denial. You conclude that paper does not reject ink, and that anyone can twist data to fit an underlying belief. There are lies, damn lies, and statistics.
The polling on the Nobel Prize are not surprising. Obama himself wondered about the award. The question that comes to mind is how many of those polled know who won the Nobel award last year? Did they polled group think that the previous winners deserve the prize?
In interpreting a poll, you always have to ask how many were polled, how was the polling done(face to face vs questionnaire), how much knowledge did the polled population have concerning the topic, what questions were asked, and was the statistical analysis valid? Ofttimes you come out looking like Karl Rove who had done the math on the 2008 election. Ooops.

This. Is. Old. News!!
How many diaries of this are you going to do? Were you on the list of the 205 nominees and jealous that you lost? Why are you losing sleep over this?
Move on already.

Don't you think a little self-examination about why are you so obsessed with this issue might be in order?

Me, I think it lays bare the ugly truth about cognitive dissonance on the left.
I did not expect any better, nor did I expect the perpetrators would actually face reality, so I do not really care anymore :)

I'll be glad when this dies. Who cares!
You understand the opinions of the US citizens have no weight on what is all ready done, or the people who gave him the prize.
I daresay, it is none of the public's business.
