Liberal columnist to Obama: Follow Bob Dole's advice

In a piece titled "A cake knife is useless in a gunfight," Gene Lyons of Salon.com says he likes Bob Dole's recent suggestion to President Obama. Said Dole: ""Obama's approval numbers would jump 10 points if Americans knew he was fully in charge."

Like Dole, when I ask myself the question of  "who's in charge," several candidates come to mind,  and Obama isn't one of them:
  • Olympia Snowe (Because of her, in part, the stimulus got watered down, and Obama is said to be debating a "trigger" option because Snowe likes it);

  • Republicans  (They have successfully controlled the message).

  • The health industry (and the money-saving deals it was able to negotiate with the White House and their influence on key centrist congressmen).

Republicans in Congress have a 12% job approval. Republicans in Congress have a 12% job approval. Republicans in Congress have a 12% job approval

Repeat it incessantly, because the media won't say it once.
Today Ben Smith and Jake Tapper, among others, note that Obama's approval has plummeted to (gasp!) around 50%.

But why are we not being told that the alternative -- that is, Republicans in congress --have a 12% approval, according  to a Harris Poll released today? Yes, Democrats have a Pyhrric 21%, but that's almost twice as high.

The people have the right to know how much Republicans suck.

Why does the media pretend that Republicans don't exist? Why won't they say that barely anybody is satisfied with their work? Who knows?

Bottom line: When a Republican or mainstream pundit brings up Obama's numbers, you reply: Republicans in Congress have a 12% job approval.

Joe Klein compares Glen Greenwald to Rush Limbaugh

Klein says Greenwald does not care about the National Security of the United States of America. Media Matters calls Klein a hypocrite:

T'he reason behind the attack appears to be Greenwald's view that torturers must be held accountable. Klein seems equally upset over GG's push to unseat moderate Democrats in 2010 and beyond.
