Gossip blog tops voting for best liberal blog award
While Glen Greenwald, Digby and other liberal blogs condemn torture and analyze other important current issues on a daily basis, the self-described "DC gossip" blog Wonkette currently holds the lead with almost twice as many votes as TPM and way ahead of the others in the "best liberal blog" category of the 2008 Weblog awards.
That's bothering me. I urge you vote for anyone but Wonkette.

Did you know Wonkette is responsible for TPM's current 2nd place position in the liberal blog category? That one post alone accounted for over 2000 TPM votes.
The reason that Wonkette is going to win the most liberal blog category (and TPM come in 2nd) is that another blog in the category, "The Confluence", wantonly defamed Wonkette, even worse than you did in this post. (related Wonkette Posts) Funny, I never thought you might be a PUMA before this, but if the bunched up panties fit...rotflmao.
"The 2008 Weblogs Awards" is a very silly and unscientific poll anyway. They allow a vote once a day in every category. I believe they do this using IP addresses, because clearing cookies is not enough. Anyone who uses WiFi access points is likely able to vote multiple times a day. In short, the voting process is itself asinine, making the award meaningless.
You've obviously never taken the time to read Wonkette, if you think they do not "condemn torture and analyze other important current issues on a daily basis". Wonkette reports on current political news, is often first with the story on the net, and sometimes provides interesting links that others do not. Their posts are sarcastic, but that is a positive on my scorecard.

lol I introduce you guys to PseudoCyAnts, ladies and gentlemen. Ever since he got mad because I posted a popular thread on the Kennedy assassination (He thinks Oswald killed Kennedy), he has been holding a grudge, stalking me, posting negative comments against my threads in order to make himself feel better.
If I post an entry against jelly sandwiches tomorrow, pseudo will show up defending them, because he couldn't explain to me why an impostor impersonated Oswald in Mexico City in 1963.
Then he does what Clinton Derangement Syndrome patients do best: Call people the hate "PUMA's", a group that probably 0.0000001% of Americans subscribe to (and I'm being conservative).
Vote for Greenwald, Digby, or TPM as a last resort. Not a self-described, and I repeat "self-described" DC Gossip blog.

Actually, I voted for TPM too, several times, after seeing how slanted the scoring was.
I have a posting account at Wonkette, but hardly ever use it. It's a holdover from when Wonkette was a part of Gawker Media. A sub-group on a board I frequent gives counting coup points for anything related to the topic of "Jezebel", because of some ravening threads on it in the past about the evils of Jezebelism or Jezebelicists or some such religious lunacy. There is value pointing to funny comments made at Jezebel dot com, if it's not done too frequently. I can't handle much of that site anyway; it's really a gossip blog. Another Gawker Media site, Valleywag, offers up some quality tech news in the same Wonkette-styled sarcasm though, and I visit it often.

I've read Wonkette for a while now (not for a serious take on the news...that's why I come here) and they didn't get started on the PUMA harassment until this blog awards thing. Then they quit when they decided it wasn't any fun.

During the RNC, I was here alone one night in the middle of what Sarah Palin would call "Real America." I became a bit giddy with snarky comments and ventured onto the wonkette blog. I simply said something I thought was mildly humorous and not at all offensive about the Palin children and someone shot back with a term that I can't, as a feminist, bring myself to repeat.
