Talking Points Memo Supports Ralph Nader

I, a long time TPM commenter, support Nader. There.

Today the Washington Post reported that one "long time commenter" in a Taliban website claimed to support McCain. Then they ran a story on it titled, "On Al-Qaeda Web Sites, Joy Over U.S. Crisis, Support for McCain"

Now, Remember the rule: Post anything and your post will be picked up by the mainstream media claiming to represent the whole website or organization.

I have to go now, have to post an "I love Obama" diary on Free Republic which will likely appear in the New York Times' front page tomorrow.

Seriously? Why Nader? I worked on his campaigns in 1996 and 2000, when he claimed to be all about building the Green Party. Then in 2004, he cobbles together some coalition that doesn't even included us, and I think in 2008 he's dispensed with party membership altogether.

As a standard bearer for Greens in local races, Nader made a lot of sense. But, what's he up to now?

I'd like to see a permanent Nader Committee in govt. Give him a great staff and let him loose on the budget, the laws, regulations!
Its a shame that this accomplished man has been so side-lined for so long. It really is a case of denying intelligence and glorifying ignorance in the republican rule and destruction of our nation.
And why is there only ONE Ralph Nader by now? Where are all the young ones to carry on?
We really missed the boat when we didn't give him his just due in govt.
Maybe Obama will wake up to his talents and wisdom.

Hi T.
you said:

"I have to go now, have to post an "I love Obama" diary on Free Republic which will likely appear in the New York Times' front page tomorrow."

If you would, T., could you post to the Free Republic under three names so the NYT can say "several" commentators?
Satire aside (yours and mine, lol), I believe your point to be well taken.

If your search for truth had led you to read two sentences further than the part you attempted to paraphrase, you'd have found that the comment in question was used as an example of what has "emerged as a consensus view on extremist sites".

In other words, the article wasn't about that one comment as you claim. It was about an emerging consensus across multiple jihadist web sites. The comment was used as an example of that consensus. Why that particular comment? Perhaps in part because it came from a contributor who was described as "respected" among the jihadists posting on that site.

So all you need to do now is get your support of Nader to become the consensus view across multiple liberal web sites, and then maybe one of your comments will be picked up as an example of that consensus view. Then you'll have a valid point.

BTW, do you post on freerepublic as "Kleebo151"?
