Media chews more than it bites off.
When's the last time you saw a cable news channel inflict real journalism on the shallow 24 hour spray of talking points coming out of Washington?
Is Barack Obama doing too much or too little? Seriously? Who feeds them these bubble gum narratives?
How about some in-depth reporting on what precisely he is doing? Maybe throw in a week-long expose on a single issue, like energy or health care? Tell us something we don't already know. Give us diversity and more context. Follow up with an intelligent question.
The 2008 presidential election proved that our fate wouldn't be decided by low information voters anymore.
Will it instead be decided by low information media?

YES! My thoughts exactly. Thanks for this.
I wish that we could organize some type of email contact with CNN, etc. and tell them exactly this. As well as their advertisers.
Negativity and let's find something wrong or make it seem like there is something wrong is their agenda.

I know Gary. 24 gd hours a day. Think of the talent in our little club here. Think of the professional talent in all the bigger blogs.
There are thousands of people out there who would work and contribute real researched stories for very little money, comparatively. I love Keith O, but there is no reason to replay him three times.
They could experiment with this concept. They have done fine docs on prisons and civil rights for weekend play.
I do not know what holds this type of thing up, but as the blogs grow in power, maybe. Who knows?

Pity we can't vote for media. We aren't all Nielson families, and changing the channel doesn't do any damn good if there isn't something worthwhile to change to!

You vote with your dollars by subscribing to a paper, paying for cable or paying for high speed internet. I pay for the internet, get over-the-air TV (worth every penny) and free local papers.
