Mccain doctrine: pre-emptive ejection of people that don't look right at his campaign rallies

This is a story out of Iowa.  People, seemingly randomly selected, were asked to leave a McCain campaign rally for no reason at all.

Here's a passage from the article:

"I saw a couple that had been escorted out and they were confused as well, and the girl was crying, so I said 'Why are you crying? and she said 'I already voted for McCain, I'm a Republican, and they said we had to leave because we didn't look right,'" Elborno said. "They were handpicking these people and they had nothing to go off of, besides the way the people looked."

Cable news quoting blogs more often than newspapers

I know this has been discussed before but it's worth repeating for a number of reasons.  One of which is that researchers for cable news channels, traditional journalists and those running the presidential campaigns are all combing through our posts, therefore it might behoove us to be more conscious of the tone and presentation of our content.  Not to mention, the content of our content.  It does seem to me that those considerations affect our credibility here at TPM.

I think we can maintain the diversity and unique free flow of diatribes that are generated on TPM, some poignant, some absurd, some deeply funny and some that descend into complete madness--all without going too Hannity.
