Week of October 5, 2008 - October 11, 2008

Has McCain pulled his racist "Obama is a terrorist" ads?

Does anyone know the answer to that?  I'd like to know if he's sincere about snuffing out the fire his campaign started by invoking the "Barack HUSSEIN Obama" intros, which, by the way, they are entirely responsible for.  I mean, they're not denying that, are they?

Like Bush and Cheney, Palin doesn't think she has to answer to legislature

Bush and Cheney disregard  the oversight of the legislative branch.   And they certainly have abused their power.
Now Palin disregards the Alaska legislature's conclusion that she abused her power.
There's no way we can let anyone with this attitude toward government anywhere near the White House.
Eight years is enough.

McCain campaign more relevant to mid-twentieth century.

With such sweeping generalizations about cutting taxes and reeling in spending and downsizing government, there is nothing at all new about anything John McCain stands for.
Drill baby drill--that's so last century.
Even his belligerent military outlook is more suited for the 50s and 60s than it is in 2008.
With all the race-baiting, the fear mongering that goes on , John McCain's rallies seem like they're taking place in the past, perhaps even before the civil rights movement.
Listen to all of their surrogates and campaign spokespeople, listen to Cindy and Sarah, it sounds like rhetoric from the world war ll era.
Pro-war, pro-oil, pro-military industrial complex.
And McCain's campaign rejects progress--ignores science altogether.--rejects evolution, rejects stem cell research, and basically treats solar, wind and biofuels as if they were early 70s hobbies of crackpots.
If McCain believes so much in American ingenuity, why does he consistently vote against funding for alternative energy.
One more point about  Papa John--he  wants to freeze all spending except for the Department of Defense. (ambiguous about entitlements)
He thinks we're all enlisted in his army--listen to the military language he uses--"I'll order the Treasury Secretary to..."
I don't know what era he's living in, but it's not this one.

(sorry for the double post.)
