Although there is A little overlap, I think you miss the point of either my post or the mediamatters article. For instance, who is winning the cable war? Where is MSNBC or CNN mentioned? Where is the breakdown of the individual shows? Where is the mention of a decline in CNN? ....

I think they would. They are the southern democrats of yesteryear. There are descendants of the southern racists that the democratic party tolerated until the rise of the civil rights movement.

They left the democratic party after the civil rights legislation of the late 1960's and joined Reagan's call for states rights, code word for jim crow.

I'm thinking from 1945 to somewhere in the early 1980's. There's been little middle class expansion in the past 25 years or so. Since Reagan, the top 1% have increase their wealth 600%, while middle class wealth has increase only 22%. That's when Reagan reduced taxes for the top earners and weakened bank regulations, initiating an onslaught of bank failures.
