Sen. Mitch McConnell refers to Democrats as the Democrat-ic Party
I couldn't believe my ears this morning. I was listening to Mitch McConnell discuss how the Republicans were more in-line with Obama then congressional Democrats on the stimulus package, when he uttered the words "Democratic Party." Was this was a slip of the tongue or if this is a sign of Obama's influence over the contempt that had become commonplace in Washington politics. Republicans have been calling the Democratic Party the "Democrat Party" from the early 1990's, meant as a slur or an expression of contempt. The use of the term Democrat Party instead of Democratic Party has waxed and waned over the past century.

Hopefully it's a sign of a 'Brand New Day' as will.i.am would say.
But .... it always puzzled me why the Dems didn't make a point, every single time there was a mispronunciation, to include a reference to the "Republic Party" in the next sentence? I'd think it would probably have extinguished the behavior pretty quickly but I never saw anyone do it. ????
