HELP: Obama Polls Show Slow Erosion
The TPM Track Composite shows a slow erosion in Obama's lead. I am posting this here because I believe it is important the we broadcast this so supporters don't get complacent. I am an Obama supporter -- I have donated fair amount of money to the campaign -- and will start phone banking in the next few days.
On 10/12/08 the spread was 7.5 (50.7-43.2). The spread today is 6.6(50.3-43.7). In the past five days Obama has lost 0.4% points and McCain has gained 0.5% points. We have almost 3 weeks to go.
We need to remain vigilante and involved with donations, phone banking, canvassing etc ... Phone banking is becoming particularly important as these mailers that McCain is sending out in the battlegrounds may erode Obama's lead. If you are inclined the Obama website can provide phone numbers from the battleground states that you can call to refute, as necessary the McShame mailings that are going out. The Obama campaign will provide talking points to help with your phone calls. The site also has info on door to door canvassing and other ways we can all help. We've invested a lot of sweat and blood -- at least figuratively speaking -- over the past year or so. Its not time to relax yet, although I am certainly looking forward to election day -- I need to get some rest. I suspect many of us do.
The polls may shift in Obama's favor with tommorrow's polling data showing a post debate effect. I certainly expect it will be the case. However is going to every racist technique at his disposal. Remember he has Atwater's political progeny running his campaign.
Please recommend this to insure others are aware of the slow erosion taking place and how we can and need to get involved.
