Week of September 14, 2008 - September 20, 2008

Obama's expanded his lead in Gallup Daily Tracking poll 50%-44%, matching his previous high of 50% reached after the democratic convention. Obama's lead 49%-42% post convention lead was obliterated 4 days after Palin and McCain's convention speeches after which McCain took the a lead of 49%-44%. McCain began to lose his lead as news of McCain & Palin's exaggerations and lying began to spread. The lead reverted to Obama a day after AIG, Lehman's Brothers and Merrill Lynch's financial problems were reported.
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday
shows Barack Obama with 48% of the vote and John McCain with 47%. It is the first time he
has lead the poll in a week-and-a-half.

According to unnamed sources, John McCain and Sarah Palin have agreed to switch roles on the ticket. Realizing that he didn't have the energy to take the 3 am. phone call, he decided that she would be better qualified to handle national security issues since it is national security issues that generally require 3 am phone calls. The agreement was supposed to be kept under wraps until after the election, but during a rally today
Sarah Palin slipped and reveal the existence of that agreement. Request for comment by the Obama campaign have not been returned.

- The economy collapsed, putting McCain's party at a distinct disadvantage.
- McCain, nevertheless, said the "fundamentals of our economy are strong."

Recommend! McCain deserves as much.

Josh thinks this is innocent. "The caller then asked if she would be influenced
if she learned that
Obama had donated money to the Palestine Liberation Organization.
The caller also asked how she would vote
if she learned that someone on
the Illinois senator's staff had close ties to Palestine. The 71-year
old woman says she was furious. A woman in a Jewish neighborhood in
Pittsburgh says she got a similar call, described as containing
misinformation and outright lies."
Seems like Push-Polling to me.This does not smell right.

On CNN, I am listening to Palin's repeat her greatest hits, from her "Bridge to Nowhere" collection. I realize that Palin voice sounds like Judy Tenuta. You know that grating irritating voice that Judy does so well? It can get old very quickly.

OMG! Obama finally puts out
an ad with EMOTIONAL teeth. Republicans take on Democrats by attacking their strongest attributes, like Kerry's swift boating. I have been waiting for this for too long. Finally honor is up for review.
Admittedly Obama has the benefit of the McCain's sleaze and the MSM finally going after McCain. Much of the ad is composed of newspaper commentary of McCain's sleazy ads. It would have been less effective without them. The MSM shift definitely started, as Josh mentioned a few weeks ago, with the Palin pick.

Here is an
Alaskan backlash against Sarah. I wonder if the MSM will cover this?
