Life Imitates Art
What a great book plot---the Democratic nominee is the distillation of inclusiveness, and the Republican is white, male, southern, and an overtly evangelical Christian. The Democrat has the very foreign combination of Kenyan and Arabic names, while the Republican is very Arkansan in name and manner.
Excluded, it seems, are the professional, the experienced, the knowledgeable, the expected, the connected, the powerful. America is apparently getting cold feet regarding dynasties.
So much for focus groups homogenizing everything. Life is chasing poetry. We're not there yet, but for now, "All the world's a stage..." And ain't it fun? (Especially since it feels like we are heading for the winner's circle.)
