Gut Feeling? I Have Gut Feelings?

..snip..

On Tuesday, Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff told the editorial board of The Chicago Tribune that he had a "gut feeling" about a new period of increased risk.

The same people that attacked us on September the 11th is the crowd that is now bombing people, killing innocent men, women and children, many of whom are Muslims, trying to stop the advance of a system based upon liberty.

..snip..

I have a gut feeling that the Bush administration is trying to scare the hell out of us again.

By the way, Secretary Chertoff, aren’t we fighting them there so we don’t have to fight them here?

Or is that, like so many other statements by the Bush administration, just what ever is convenient to say at the time?

Seeking Redress, En Masse

Opinion is firming around September 17, Constitution Day, as the target date for an email campaign that will be intended solely to let Congress know we are watching and waiting, but losing patience. We don't want to stop activity; we want to get it moving.

The topic would be bringing the administration to account. We want accelerated subpoena schedules, more hearings, and actual consideration of impeachment for either Bush and/or Cheney. (Throw in Gonzales for flavor.)

The result may be server shutdowns, but if thousands or millions of legitimate emails come in they can't be spam-blocked and will have to be dealt with eventually. It will be a virtual demonstration, but harder to ignore than the modern, managed kind, with fences and helicopters to control the crowd, and TV to undercount the turnout.

Discussion began on this idea in "Where's the Shame?"

Disclaimer: this action is not intended as interference in execution of laws or other proper administration duties and services.
