The public outrage is building--what's missing is the corresponding shame on the part of this administration's supporters and enablers.

Shall we begin with "My Pet Goat"? Then "Where's Waldo (Osama)?" Then there were those WMDs, along with throwing Plame to the wolves. How about the rape of Iraq, the plan to sell it off quickly? How about the American Empire's current ziggurat in Baghdad, built with slave labor by First Kuwaiti, and a total boondoggle?

Skipping over illegal surveillance and drowning brown people, the current trope of Libby's political persecution is breathtaking in its shameless inversion of history and facts. Whose politics were being promoted by CIA referring the Plame outing to Justice? Ashcroft as secret liberal? Fitz?

There is a genetic defect, a transcription error which strips out 20 or 30 genes, called Williams Syndrome. People with this show excessive trust and friendliness to everyone. Perhaps I have a mild form, to expect any shame from the likes of the Libby apologists, the war boosters, the crony war profiteers.

But if they feel no shame at Cheney's 3,000% value increase for his Halliburton options since Iraq, the public may have something to say. And here's a seditious suggestion on that topic: a coordinated email assault on Congress that will shut down their servers and get the message across that we expect action. We simply choose a date and time, publicize it across the blogs, and Congress will have to deal with it. Conyers keeps saying the public has to pressure Congress, and we have to shake some sense into some Republicans to get past the Democratic cold feet.
