David Gregory is just ROCK Stupid, a true Moron. (Just a quick vent)
If you can tolerate David Gregory & MTP at all, just watch the first 10 minutes with the King of Jordan. He is doing his best to score Republican talking points.
Gregory Is an absolute idiot. It is time to Ignore him and his show.
Mr. Gregory, you have been weighed, measured and found................... FUCKING STUPID.
Sorry about that F Bomb, my dad always told me that profanity is the strongest expression of a weak mind. Those of you that have read some of my past posts know that on occasion I have quite the weak mind, but Gregory deserves an F bomb, and no more of my... or your attention.

I've sworn off MTP, until they find a less insipid host.

Like most high profile journalists in the MSM he is more worried about his access than actually practicing his craft. I tend not to watch the Sunday morning political shows...there are only softballs a plenty and RARELY any meaningful follow-up to the responses that are invariably misrepresentations and often out and out lies.

I too have sworn off MTP but I haven't totally escaped John King and I think he's even worse. Gregory is just stupid. King seems to have bought the center-far-right as a given. Once again we had the full range of Democratic opinion all the way from Feinstein to Lieberman.

I don't even know what MTP is! We don't have cable. And I suspect that has something to do with it!
(with no link here... I couldn't even watch it...)
I've been saved! Hallelujah! ;)

Meet The Press
Gregory is one of little brain. I can't believe that's the best they could do to replace Russert.

Today's version of "Meet The Press" and David Gregory actually fit well together.
You all have to admit, in terms of "the press" and it's contemporary confused-dullard narcissism, Gregory actually represents "the press" as we know it today, quite well.
So, just looking at it as a statement of fact, it is really quite accurate.
He is exactly what "the press" has become.

So funny. But I really want to know if that beautiful dog is yours? And if it is thank you for putting it up. The black and white cat thing around here is just about out of hand.

Where would David Mamet be without the "F" word?
That's why I love Sirius Left, especially the far lefties like Dave Marsh. When used well the "f" word can me musical like it is in Mamet's work.
I could only watch the first few minutes of MTP.After he said that Obama is appealing to his "liberal activist base" in exposing torture, I remarked to my husband that I didn't know torture was a partisan issue for looney tune lefties.
About forty minutes later as I was switching channels, I caught another few minutes of silliness with Doris Kearns Goodwin and Jon Meacham about the historical significance of the first 100 days. Just silly blather. Wish Doris would become a persona non grata again like she was for awhile after she was caught possibly plagiarizing.... a lot.
Like I've said before, these shows are like watching a Restoration Comedy. I imagine these morons with periwigs, fans a snapping, and beauty marks covering their syphilis sores. Then it's easier to watch.

So, Asshat McCain admits we were in violation of laws and treaties, but is opposed to prosecuting.
What's wrong with this picture?
As far as the public being evenly split on whether torture should be used in certain circumstances, that is worrying to me. Perhaps if everybody were to read Andrew Sullivan's many posts on torture, their outlook would be different.

I confess I watched a little of it. Did you catch the part where he was grilling whatshisname - Obama's press secretary? He was asking about Obama's edict that there will be no more torturing, and Gregory desperately wanted him to admit that well, just MAYBE he would okay torture if the situation presented itself.
Then he asked if Obama would have okayed it after 911. The response was less than stellar -- "can't really say," essentially.
The problem with Gregory is that every question has an agenda behind it rather than an effort to find out information. That is why he is such a bad interviewer.

CV D,
Yep, Perhaps David Agenda BlaGregory
Hope you are doing OK after your loss. I left you a note that mentioned a song by Jimmy Buffett called "One Particular Harbor" that eases my mind and my heart when I am down remembering lost friends and family. Hope you find it and give it a listen.
PEACE.

Thank you. Where did you leave it? I am sure I missed a lot that was going on. I really enjoy Jimmy Buffet; his music eases my mind and brings back many memories as well.
I am purposely trying to put things on the back-burner for this weekend, and at the same time, trying to rejoin the world; so you comment was a perfect response for me. Again, thanks!

I wonder what kind of contract Gregory locked NBC into. I hope no longer than the time needed to get the Kid up to speed so he can take his father's place.

I agree regarding David Gregory and John King. It's been very disappointing to see that there are no follow-up questions. Further, there is either an ignorance of facts or a desire to support false statements. It seems like any republican talking point is accepted as truth. I've stopped watching both shows.

If profanity is an expression of a week mind then Gregor,s whole show would surely be one long string of profanity, and all you would hear is ..bleep, bleep...bleep bleep bleep, as they bleepin bleeped him out. Come to think of it that would be preferable to what he does say.

What ails Gregory is the same thing that ails most of TV news. They are all more interested in creating a story than in reporting one. Every small story is disproportionately dramatized in the hopes of making it a larger story. Drama equals ratings. It's now totally about money. There's no public service component involved.
Today's full-time 24/7 cable news channels are forever hungry for fresh content. The corporate bottom line obsession has driven them to produce as much conflict based drama (the easiest kind of drama to produce) as they possibly can. Whether through breathless reporting, "gotcha" interviewing, of which, Gregory is doing his best to make Tim Russert's ghost proud, or political agenda driven analysis, TV news has become an information wasteland.

It is all about the issue of creation versus evolution. Creationist believe it does not matter what the facts suggest, we can create our own story. Evlolutionists believe we have to reduce everything to the things we know in a scientific way and we will have the truth revealed gradually. It will evolve as we learn more. Creationists already know what they want it to be. Evolutionists are still studying the matter.
Gregory is trying to maintain the creationist perspective. The thing is that all of the people are not folled anymore but he remains one of them.

Yes. I don't watch MTP anymore. I don't have cable like TherP but I watch Rachel Maddow and Keith Olberman on the web. I tried watching David Gregory but he does seem like he belongs on FOX. I watched Morning Joe a few days ago, which I don't do often, and Gregory was a guest and the discussion on torture was apalling in my view. I find Gregory's perspective and 'whatever you call what he does on MTP' useless.

The only real reporting is on "Democracy Now". Even Keith and Rachel keep to the news stories the corporate news wants covered. Where are their stories on union workers harassed at Smithfield? Where are their stories on the latest Monsanto attempts to make their genetically modified seeds part of US aid to Africa? Why was an Italian journalist killed in Somalia following a story on Italian mafia connections to the pirates? Why are there 4.4 million people displaces in Colombia, more than Darfur, and why don't we know about it?
Why is the 2nd largest embassy next to Baghdad in Bogota?
