No wonder the private sphere feels they cannot compete with a governmental run health program.

People can just go from blog to blog, proving to themselves how foolish it is to want private health care insurance!

I have no problems with CEOs making a decent paycheck but this is obscene considering people are dying because of their flawed product.
If any product ever needed to be subjected to a government recall...

I was under United HC a couple of years ago and could not get approval for back surgery (despite my doctor’s referral for a bulging disc, a ruptured disc causing severe sciatica, and a lacerated disc). Even steroid injections were classified as “surgery” with a $1200+ co-pay for each procedure. It’s been little better under BCBS and Humana, now, as all costs to employees have risen.
I hope I don’t sound like I’m whining here as I know I'm lucky compared to many people. But I mention it because it illustrates the costs of capitalism butting up against basic necessities of life; of a right to acceptable health care. There was a nice article in Counterpunch today about the ‘97 act that revived network TV through $billion drug advertising illustrating how truth and science get distorted in pur$uit of the almighty dollar.
How many people have been denied the most minimal, reasonable, just and proper care simply as human beings, cohorts on this planet, with rights as such because of CEO salaries and stock-holder profits? Thanks for posting this.

I would go a step further and say all insurance companies are the problem. They are frauds: all sunshine and promises to care for you when you need them most, until you actually do.
After her accident, my wife's car languished for 2 weeks in the impound lot before the American Family adjuster even looked at it.
Finally, they told us we had to bring her Honda to the company-approved Chevrolet dealer for an interesting twist on step therapy. OEM Honda parts were not covered, unless the Chevy dealer tried using aftermarket, generic parts first.
Needless to say, the generics sucked. Instead of its formerly smooth, parallel groove, the hood-fender seam was "V" shaped: nearly touching at the front bumper and gaping near the windshield. The bumper/fender and the bumper/hood seams were no better and the left headlight no longer fit entirely inside the nose assembly.
So then it was another week for them to take everything apart, order the correct Honda parts and fix everything right. Meanwhile, I started getting a bill for the rental car because American Family only covered 30 days worth of car rental. After 3 rounds of "let me speak with your supervisor," I managed to get that charge overturned, on the grounds that American Family caused the delay itself, with its own annoying policies.
So after a month, we finally got our Accord back. Only it never drove straight again and it wouldn't retain an alignment. Thank God my wife wasn't injured, or she would've had to deal with the health insurance too.

I have been searching the web for a great insurance deal. Found this cool site that detects where you are. I used it to find some
Insurance agents in my local area.
