Sarah is down there to bring out the Evangelical Base. As a Christian, I don't understand why Southern people of faith have to choose between faith and thinking, and why they always choose the guy that is the most morally offensive to Christian values. The most pious GOP candidate is usually the biggest sleaze.

It isn't just Southern folks...Almost my whole family voted for McCain and were enamored of Palin, and they are all Christians living mostly in California. For the most part, a whole lot of Christians have become 2 issue voters - abortion and gay marriage - and who cares about the rest.
I can't get a straight answer from them about what makes this ok...it's just "vote the Bible." As far as they are concerned Obama is the anti-Christ. What I don't get is that if God is ready for the end times, what makes them think that how they vote is going to change that, AND if it IS the end times, why wouldn't they WANT to return to the Father, rather than live here?
