Regan Democrats? Enough! It is time we started talking about OBAMA REPUBLICANS!
II am so sick of hearing about Regan Democrats it's time that Republicans learned about Obama Republicans and the fact that Republicans are no longer a majority of our country and will not be for some time to come. Democrats are now the majority party in the USA and will be for some time to come based on how first time voters voted.
Remember it is now OBAMA REPUBLICANS!!

Actually, the country is divided into thirds by democrats, republicans and independents. There is no majority party. Never has been. What we have is a silent majority that includes both Reagan Democrats and Obama Republicans. What we need is to get past is the whole labeling issue when it comes to fixing this country.
Democrats tend to be liberal. Republicans tend to be conservative. Our national strategies shouldn't be held hostage to either camp. Barack should set a broad, national agenda as he did in the campaign and then inspire every American to work to achieve those goals, whether they are to the left or the right of the dial is immaterial.
I suspect our solutions will have both liberal and conservative elements that make the end product much more sustainable and progressive than either party could achieve alone.

There is an irrefutable bias towrd the Reich in the media, no question. The Dems do need to get control of the message. At the moment, we are allowing the media to demonize the organized auto workers. Frankly, I think the Reich will be happy to see it collapse, but don't worry, those Republican execs in the industry will be just fine, even if they retain only half their wealth.

I think it is OBAMACONS. Since it is the conservatives who went for Obama by an larger number than they have in an incredibly long time.

Well as a Obamacon I'm going to be very sad when the auto industry bailout happens. I knew Obama would probably be forced/want to do it but it still makes me unhappy. Hopefully he'll do enough good to outweigh this.

Or get us some equity so we can influence their piss-poor managers to quite killing electric cars. I am not apposed to this paradigm, but we need the power that comes from significant ownership of a company.

Yes, I too am exasperated by the phrase "Reagan Democrats." What exactly is it suppose to mean? For starters, Reagan won in two successive landslides. Were the media actually surprised that this necessarily involved a considerable number of registered Democrats voting for him? Second, they talk about Reagan Democrats as if, eight years after Clinton and twenty-four years after Reagan's re-election, they are still some sort of identifiable voting bloc. The longhand version would seem to be 'Democrats who usually vote Republican.' Well, I'm a vegetarian, but I usually have a steak for dinner. "Reagan Democrats" obviously describes independents and moderate Republicans who may occasionally crossover, but tell that to the label-happy media.
