There was a time I lived in Connecticut and I could not be more emabarassed to admit that then I am now. How DID he ever manage to get people to vote for him as an Independent?!? Why did the Dems not support his opponent more vigorously? The ONLY thing I can imagine is that he knows where the bodies are buried. Otherwise, he would not have been a VP candidate with Gore, and the mentor for Obama when he came to the Senate. I look forward to 2012 when he finally gets shown the door.

Not a surprise but I had hoped the people of Connecticut were having an effect on the douche regarding health insurance/care reform.

You fight for health care reform? Cancel your fking insurance. If every progressive in America did this it the insurance companies would be begging for a gov. bailout. They might get it at first, but it would be a start towards fighting back. And if doctors refuse care without insurance, remind them in very unkind words that they took an oath. You want strike fear in these bastards? Stop playing the game. They think their pouting has got them somewhere, but what if we all just refused to be apart of the bullshit anymore. You know how Ayn Rand used to run around saying what if the people that could just didn't, then the poor plebes would see. But that works both ways Miss Rand. What if the plebeians walked away from the game? They think somehow the rest of us poor saps don't contribute anything but fodder for their game? Man I'd love to see the health insurers face when their revenue suddenly dropped of a cliff.

A legend in his own mind, Traitor Joe knows deep down he can't get re-elected because he has failed his electorate. The people want a public option, but the industry who has bought and paid for this vote, health insurance usurpers, do not.
It will be hard to bend him. In 2012, he's out of office. Then he goes to work for insurance vermin presumably. The leverage is that his chairmanship is pulled and he is made even more of a laughing stock for 2 1/2 years. His pushback is he will then caucus with Repubs. There are basically no moderate Republicans to provide that 60th vote otherwise, unless someone's laying low.
I think it's a tough situation, and I hope that Harry has some tricks up his sleeve.
Last thought: Probably Olympia Snowe is a better bet to provide the 60th vote than Traitor Joe.
