Max Baucus and his ties to Insurance Companies
I want to direct everyone who cares about health care today to a little article in the Montana Standard. (Oh Yeah the paper of record in Butte, Montana and Silverbow County.... Ok, that is funny, laugh)
There is a long article today about Max Baucus and his ties to the the health care industry. Does everyone realize Max gets 1/4 of all his money from the health care industry, and yes it is an industry.
http://www.mtstandard.com/articles/2009/06/14/state/hjjajdifjijigd.txt
According to the article from January 2003 - January 2008 Baucus received $3.4 million or $1500 a day (yes they broke it down) from..... let's hear the drumroll...
Long ago, in the 1970's, politicians did take money from businesses and industries etc, but I don't believe they so obviously owned the government. I mean think about it, Tricky Dick Nixon believed in wage and price controls!
Our representatives are owned, not by us but by business, big business. They seem to always get what they need, they even enjoyed free reign over illegal investment practices that guys like Max Baucus and his friends helped to create by eliminating regulations.
Has a regulation ever been eliminated for you? I thought not. Cause I see all the people who smoke cigarettes outside buildings and bars, huddling around giant fire pits, so I guarantee no regulations have ever been changed because they are hurting you.
Let me say I don't smoke. However, I am more bothered by someone who walks down the street smoking or is standing in the doorway of an office building or shopping center, or other stores, because I can't get into the building without ending up smelling like I smoked a pack of cigarettes. But I digress.
We need to take action however. We must not allow the health industry to take away our right to health care.
Later today I will blog about the new Title 1 Affordable Health Care for all Americans, as I have been reading the 615 page bill, and am offering an analysis of the bill. For now, write your representatives, all of them, tell them you will not allow Health Care for all to be hijacked by Companies who obviously own them.
See you all later today or tonight.
:)

" groups and individuals associated with drug companies, insurers, hospitals, medical-supply firms, health-service companies and other health professionals."That is a direct quote from the article. I suggest everyone read that article to understand exactly what the president and what the public is dealing with. Our congress is owned almost in whole by these kind of people. Everyone has an agenda. I am a good democrat but I am not going to let them get away with this crap, so if Democratic Senators are going to sabotage this, then we ought to take them to task for their actions.

Ah yes "Montana Max"
I say again I will pay the filing fee for the first person to take on a democrat that refused to vote for a public option.

I am with Face of course in that there must be a public option. I am listening to the Sunday propaganda this morning and getting heartburn.
Yes, the money flows from the corporate fascists.
It is just I still like Baucus. We shall see how this turns out.
George Will is saying all the left wants is a foot in the door and then we can go down 'the slippery slope' to government run health care. See, once in awhile I agree whole heartedly with his assessment. ha.

Liking Baucus and making him do will of the people are two different things. I like him just fine. He is an ok guy. But, he gets pressure from those guys who give him money. Well he gets our votes, so we ought to be pressuring him too. That is our job, I think.

Max Baucus, this is personal. Let me tell you how it is. You are a whore, as are other democrats who take big money. You and they should prominently be known as whores and all that implies. I will personally work to see you brought down, on the off chance that the person who replaces you, even a republican, might be honest.
