Joe Scarborough, Dick Cheney, Leon Panetta and Me!
Dear Joe,
I heard you this morning talking to Ed Schultz. I have to say there are days when I think you are a really pushing the bounds of defending the right.
First I would like to complement you on the one great thing about your show. Yes, that would be Willie Geist, who is incredibly funny! That guy is really one of the only reasons I watch your show anymore. I like Mika but at times it seems like she is trying to appease the world because her last name is Brzezinski and she doesn't want anyone to accuse her of being you know a democrat or a liberal because of who her father happens to be. Whatever, that gets old Joe. I get tired of the fakery. But whatever floats your boat I guess.
Today, I caught the show just as you asked Ed Schultz if he
thought Leon Panetta was correct in saying it seemed like Dick Cheney wanted
the US to be attacked, but Joe said it in a much more twisted way, he said. "Ed; do
you believe Dick Cheney wants American's to be killed"? To that Ed
answered a short but sweet yes, yes I do. And then Joe gets a little mad, you
know like he does occasionally, and he says loudly and angrily: "Barack Obama's
supporters have been calling Dick Cheney evil for two years now..." He must
have said that eight times. Hey Joey: WE'VE BEEN CALLING DICK CHENEY EVIL SINCE
2003 MORON AND AT THAT TIME WE BARELY KNEW WHO BARACK OBAMA WAS. So basically Joe is saying that Dick Cheney's
feelings got hurt so he lashed out and he would never want anything bad to
happen to this country. Blah, Blah, Blah.... That is his explanation for Dick
lashing out at the administration, because he widdle feewings were hurt.... Oh...
poor widdle Dickey, his feewings were hurt so he makes crazy assed statements about how torture is the only way to protect
the nation. You know we have heard it a million times from Dick, we must torture to protect ourselves. No matter how crazy that sounds, that is exactly what Dick believes.
Joey: listen up, Dick Cheney may or may not want this country to be attacked, what he clearly wants is to make sure we all realize that if this country gets attacked again it is because we haven't tortured anyone. That is the gist of that Dick Cheney, is saying. The other thing he is saying it please, please, please do not PROSECUTE ME FOR WAR CRIMES. Then he implies torture is good, and torture saved lives without offering any hard evidence of those beliefs. Dick and his sidekick Liz continue to state that there is proof torture works but this administration simply won't release it because they do not want to prove Dick is and was correct.
So today I vowed I would turn off Morning Joe in the future. I will open up TPM, watch the revolution take place on Twitter, turn on some tunes, have a cup of coffee, then get ready for my bike ride, because Morning Joe has now become an official apologist for Cheney and Republicans.
Bye Joe, please say goodbye to Mika for me! It was an occasional
pleasure listening to you.

I stopped watching Joe a while ago. None of his guests challenge his assertions, he's treated Mika with disrespect in the past and there's never anything original he lends to political dialogue.
Regarding what Panetta said, why is that everyone is demanded to apologize to Republicans and neocons but it's never the other way around?

Neo-cons owe us a a huge apology! I believe the reason their feet are never held to the fire is because reporters are afraid. Neo cons always accuse journalists of having their own biases and political agendas. The problem is though, people like Joe Scarborough who call themselves "journalists" never are journalists. Joe is simply a former congressman and lawyer, he is the one with the political agenda! His job and the job of those like him is to accuse everyone else of having an agenda, but never admit their own. Hopefully, the rest of the country can see what they are doing.
Panetta never should have issued an apology or retraction or whatever that was. That was lame.

Who demands more apologies on the playground, the bully, or the kid he's beating up? It's just like that, in politics, for the Republicans.

This is pretty good stuff. Nice letter. You got me laughing. I am glad I am not the only one who watches Mornin Joke.
Ed can take care of himself all right. He has taken care of crazier people on his radio show, crazier and smarter than Jughead.
Thank you.

As I usually say Joe Scarborough belongs on Fox News... I have written to others at MSNBC to ask if they ever challenge Joe's assertions as they do O'Reilly's and Hannity's and the most I see if that they occassionally have Ed go on his show and that's about it. I watched the exchange between them once and it really wasn't worth it. Ed was far too reserved. I just can't watch the stuff and don't see any value in it.
Maybe that's just because I don't drink coffee:)

When the pressure becomes too much, Cheney will retire to Dubai. Remember that Halliburtion moved its war profiteering headquarters to Dubai, much to the consternation of the Congress. Cheney received deferred payments from Halliburton during his term in office. Best of all, Dubai has no extradition treaties with the USA.

Yet another reason to hate Dick Cheney.

tm - so you're going to stop watching Joe but what about Olbermann, Madow, Matthews, etc? It's better to listen to a balanced list of shows rather than just all the other crap on MSNBC

Just venting. I won't be able to help myself, I'll tune in just to see Joe's morning mental gymnastics with his giant 1000 calorie Frap by his side.
