I interpret Nadler's press release a bit differently. I think he's saying that the Senate passes an amendment package through reconciliation. Then the Senate removes the popular provisions and votes on another bill through the normal process. Then the House can vote on both the amendment bill (without popular provisions) and the "popular" bill together.

This makes more sense than the House voting for the Senate bill as it is now (with the private market reforms inside of it) and the amendment package, and then a third bill down the line which repeats the same private market reforms as the Senate bill they already passed.

I wish I had a big name - someone really recognizable to lead this effort. The first name that comes to mind is Jon Stewart. Or someone that can get on his show and make the call out. God, who IS the Al Gore of healthcare reform??? The spokesperson? Sadly, it turns out it's not Obama.

Every single person that is uninsured, underinsured, or cares about someone that is uninsured or underinsured, needs to make a call and tell House members to vote for the Senate bill. And we need all the advocacy groups that represent them to camp out on the Mall until it's enacted. A date and time for calls needs to be picked. Then the annoucement needs to be plastered on every social media site available.

Maybe Families USA take the lead? They seem to be the only group around ready to put it everything on the line to pass a bill. Of course, you might want to ask them about that.

An article in today's Denver Post describes a group of protestors that temporarily blocked a Palin motorcade. The McCain camp has a right to unobstructed access to their rallies - just as Obama supporters have a right to peaceful access to their early voting locations. These antics are not helpful to the Obama campaign!! I mean, what are they trying to do, draw attention to the fact that Palin is running for VP?? Don't we know that already??
