I don't want John McCain anywhere near that button. Clinton can carry off SoS because I truly believe that she was BSing about her stance on talking with our enemies. She wanted to convice voters that she was tough on defense, even as a woman and a Dem and it was a good way to paint Obama as a "wimp". She's full of it. As Sos, she won't be running her agenda(give Obama some credit)she will be reporting to him and doing his bidding. Obama stuck to his stance on diplomacy this entire time, he ain't gonna change it now. McCain, on the other hand, I think he strongly believes most of the crap he said and has no respect for Obama. I can't picture him bowing to Obama. Don't know what they are meeting about, but I hope it is collaboration on a bill, not a position on his cabinet (cross my fingers!!!!!)
Mos Def for SecDef!
WRONG!! I don't trust him in that role. He would have to be in a position where he could do less harm. I don't trust him to follow orders and I don't think he would want to follow orders from Obama. Secretary of Defense has to be completely willing to follow the president's decisions. I would worry that McCain would get is into wars we don't need to get into. NO WAY!!
Not in a million fucking years would Obama even consider putting McCain in his cabinet (unless we take that to mean actually locking him physically in a cabinet).
Give me a break. Obama is supposedly to meet with McCain, according to media speculation, so he must be in contention for S of D.
"The Washington, D.C., culture lives and thrives on rumors. It's akin to the winter baseball league where there are kinds of rumors about trades, 99 percent of which are not based on any real facts or insider information," said Chris Lehane, a former aide in the Clinton White House.
"It's a place where people make their living trading information, whether it's accurate or not."
Often, it's impossible to know what's true until Obama announces his decision. His aides, for example, have yet to confirm or deny leaks that Ron Klain, a former chief of staff to Vice President Al Gore, has been selected as the chief of staff to Vice President-elect Joe Biden.
"There's lots of excitement and interest in who will serve in the Obama Administration," Cutter said.
"Until final decisions are made by the one person who can make them, President-elect Obama, we unfortunately can't assist in that speculation by confirming or denying alleged names or positions."
Added Lehane: "There is so much speculation that is based on very little information that most of it should be taken with an enormous grain of salt."
Let's just put him in charge of anti-earmarks and leave it at that...
Oh God I would hope not.

This speculation is getting stupider by the hour, as McClatchy's Stephen Thomma reports.
