Supporters of programs to provide legal marijuana to patients with painful medical conditions are celebrating Attorney General Eric Holder's statement this week that the Drug Enforcement Administration would end its raids on state-approved marijuana dispensaries.Enjoy.
While on the ground in Haiti, the U.S. military can also interrupt the nightly flights of cocaine to Haiti and the Dominican Republic from the Venezuelan coast and counter the ongoing efforts of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez to destabilize the island of Hispaniola.Great idea here. We can pretend the US Coast Guard is there to help, all the while stealing Venezuelan cocaine to fund our war with Yemen. It's a win-win. Go Wolverines.
American officials agreed to send the two terrorists from Guantanamo to Saudi Arabia where they entered into an "art therapy rehabilitation program" and were set free, according to U.S. and Saudi officials.
Set free. As in "free to return to attacking America". Heckuva job Bushie. Worst president ever.
BTW Obama, war crimes trials are LONG overdue.
Enjoy.
Passengers getting off flights from overseas reported being told that they couldn't get out of their seat for the last hour of their flight. Air Canada also said that during the last hour passengers won't be allowed access to carry-on baggage or to have any items on their laps.Whether or not this method of added security is a good thing will no doubt be hotly debated over the coming weeks. From my perspective we're just inches away from requiring complete strip searches before boarding an airline. I still look pretty good in my Hanes, so I don't really care.
The House bill would cap annual out-of-pocket medical expenses at $5,000 per individual and $10,000 per family starting in 2013. New plans offered through new employers, as well as policies sold through the proposed health insurance exchange, a marketplace where consumers can compare plans and prices, would be subject to limits.
A family making $50,000 will have to make serious sacrifices to find $10,000 [the amount you're likely to spend for an insurance policy under the new law]. But it's better--light years better--than finding $25,000 or more [the amount you'd have to find without the new law]. It's potentially the difference between having to give up your home, get an extra job or declare bankruptcy. Just knowing the bills that could come will be the difference between getting care you need--and skipping it, at grave risk to your health.Health care never needed reform. Profiteering off health care certainly did, but I see no signs of that in what I've read. Anybody out there care to enlighten me on how a $10,000 annual policy premium (with another $10,000 out-of-pocket cap) is a good thing?
Dec. 1 (Bloomberg) -- "I just wrote my first reference for a gun permit," said a friend, who told me of swearing to the good character of a Goldman Sachs Group Inc. banker who applied to the local police for a permit to buy a pistol. The banker had told this friend of mine that senior Goldman people have loaded up on firearms and are now equipped to defend themselves if there is a populist uprising against the bank.
They don't call them the smartest guys in the room for nothing.
Enjoy.
