I want my old ID and profile back - where has it gone? (When I tried to sign in I got a message saying I was not allowed to access blogs.)

And this automated thing - where did the plain login fields go? Bring them back!

Judge Dennis Challeen, in Winona, MN, has spoken and written about things like this for years now.

For those unfamiliar with Judge Challeen, he is one of the originators of the community service sentencing concept, and bases his views on the notion that, while as a judge he had the power to make someone miserable by incarcerating them, that alone would most likely not change their behavior in any positive way. Reintegration into a society where an offender feels he has a stake in things accomplishes much more. Prison space is thus reserved for the truly dangerous offender who, for whatever reason, does not stop committing violent crimes.

Giving people a stake in society will likely produce a far more stabilizing result than denying them that stake - at that point what does someone have to lose by reoffending?

I'd settle for being able to log in under my old ID - I get some crap about not being able to access anything. And even though I'm logged in under this new temp-ID, I have to sign in again to comment? WTF?

Let's get the basics working before plugging new features, OK?

And when I sent in my response the first thing that happened was I was told my "session had expired" and that I needed to sign in again - after maybe 5 minutes or so.

I created this (hopefully) obviously discardable ID after not being able to sign in or re-sign up under my existing account. When I tried to sign in I was told I could not access anything under that ID. When I tried to re-sign in with that ID I was told that it was already in use.

Something is clearly still a bit ripe in Denmark.

FIX IT!
