It occurs to me that a proper healthcare plan, up to and including single payer, would be the best and most honest way of giving the healthcare system back to the citizens.
Right now the industry owns and controls everything with ratepayers being disadvantaged in every way. Putting it in the hands of the government actually puts it in the hands of citizens. This is exactly what everybody wants. The government is us. If we control the system it is ours.
Came across this in perusing my morning news sites. This is about Americans dying because of mistakes made while in hospitals. I know we've all seen this before.
New York - As many as 200,000 Americans die every year from preventable medical mistakes and hospital infections this year, according to a report from the Hearst Corporation.
The Dead By Mistake report concludes that a staggering 98,000 Americans die from preventable medical errors each year and just as many from hospital-acquired infections.
