Week of August 31, 2008 - September 6, 2008

The Daily show delivers AGAIN (with the video for proof)

He shows EXACTLY the kind of "change" John McCain will bring to the whitehouse.

I don't know about you but AP is QUICKLY becoming a top 10 Public Enemy

DILLONVALE, Ohio -So much for the 50-state strategy. Barack Obama, who once pledged to compete in every state, has shifted his thinking. Now, he'll pick and choose where to spend time and money. Despite early optimism, Obama's strategists are mapping out an electoral plan similar to Democrat John Kerry's from 2004. Obama still is pushing into traditionally Republican and rural areas, such as this farm region along the Ohio River. But don't look for the Democratic presidential nominee in, say, undeniably GOP Idaho. Obama made a beeline for the Rust Belt when he left the Democratic National Convention last week. With a swing through Pennsylvania, Ohio and Michigan, Obama signaled the importance of this region to his campaign. Kerry won Pennsylvania and Michigan — two states where Obama strategists think their chances are iffy — and lost Ohio by a one-vote-per-precinct margin in 2004. Obama has long looked for a way to win the White House without the 20 electoral votes of Ohio, the prototypical swing state. His top aides, including his campaign manager, once said they could lose the state and still win the election by picking off states that typically support Republicans. No more.
Look at this HACKJOB of a piece (the rest of the article was actually readable). First of all, when has the O camp EVER said that their chances in Michigan and Pennsylvania are "iffy". When have they ever said  "forget Ohio we don't need it." They HAVE said they could win without Ohio but they would nonetheless compete hard in the state. Third of all they totally misrepresent the 50 state strategy making it seem like O expected to win in all 50 states rather than  competing in some and helping the down ballot races. I may just be picking at scabs but reading that truly angered me but the rest of the article sobered me up.

Hillary Clinton SPEAKS, her response to the Republican National Convention!

Hillary Clinton just released this statement: "The two party conventions showcased vastly different directions for our country. Sen. Obama and Sen. Biden offered the new ideas and positive change America needs and deserves after eight years of failed Republican leadership. Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin do not."

"After listening to all the speeches this week, I heard nothing that suggests the Republicans are ready to Fix the economy for middle-class families, provide quality affordable health care for all Americans, guarantee equal pay for equal work for women, restore our nation's leadership in a complex world or tackle the myriad of challenges our country faces. So, to slightly amend my comments from Denver: NO WAY, NO HOW, NO McCAIN-PALIN."

I'll be on the campaign trail for Obama Biden on Monday!

Thank you Sarah Palin for energizing our base BEYOND BELIEF.

The O camp has reported they have recieved 8 mill in donations ALREADY and will more than likely reach 10 mill before McCains speech toningt. I have donated another 50 bucks this morning and plan to add another 50 if McCain amps me up in anger. So once again I thank you Ms. Palin we were already energized after last thursday but now we are going into overdrive.

The UNBELIEVABLE hypocrisy of the Republican party

Does anyone do it better than Jon Stewart? I think not:

As Robert Greenwald would say "Psst....do something" spread the word.

Barack is going to be on the O RLY factor(!?!?)

Talk about walking into the lion's den. It's actually a pretty ingenious idea. Almost any conservative with the chance will be watching fox because of the convention, Obama will have ALOT of ears listening and he may just sway a few people.......yea right.

Am I the only one that realizes the Palin pick didn't just energize the Republican Base.

It totally supercharged the blogs. These blogs went into overdrive getting information, breaking stories and even controlling the narrative of the elections. Guess what? It's only been 5 DAYS. Keep up the fantastic work bloggers, because we are JUST getting started....

I GURANTEE the republicans will try to get Gen. Petraeus to run for President in the near future.

Am I the only one that has that feeling. All that praise, Pawlenty saying Barack should have tapped him for his VP, McCain saying he is one of the smartest men he knows, Bush listening to his every word. I just feel it deeply, they want their Ike re-do and they see it in General David Petraeus. The real question is the timing. Will it be in the next election or the one after it? What do you guys/girls think?
