Week of August 24, 2008 - August 30, 2008

The Sarah Palin pick SCREAMS of Bush-Cheney, except reversed.

She is the all american, middle america type woman. Women can see themselves in someone who has five kids put still holds a top spot in a job. She isn't filthy rich and is totally pro-union. AMERICANS LOVE THAT. Bush won TWICE because of that BS. Now she is incredibly unqualified to be a heartbeat away from the presidency HOWEVER, there are FAR too many voters who won't pay much attention to this considering how "one of us" she is. Now, you have the steady hand, the man with "experience" John McCain guiding her if need be. The repubs are counting on McCains experience on the top of the tickey accounting for Palin's lack thereof. The repubs are very interesting, don't underestimate this tactic. It troubles me to say the least.

Damn I wanted Wesley Clark to have a speaking role.

However, I am happy he was there and honored along with the other commanders who served this country patriotically. Hope he plays some sort of role in an Obama administration, his military mind is unbelievable.

Senator Hillary Clinton won the Arkansas primary with 70% of the vote.

They, in the incredibly heartwarming showing of unity, cast ALL of it's votes for Barack Obama. This was the one state I wanted to see of them all to be truthful. That showing of unity leaves no doubt in my mind that we will leave this convention more unified than we entered it. Ready to take the white house!

A Memo to Colin Powell: If you have chosen to endorse Barack Obama please do so during the GOP convention.

Well this was more of an idea than a memo that although I know probably won't be read by anyone from either the Powell or Obama camps it would be an unbelievable showing of one-upsmanship that would steal spotlight from the convention. One of the highest ranking and respected men in this nation, a self identified Republican, would  be (if he actually does decide to do so) endorsing Obama during the one moment when the GOP truly controls the spotlight. It would not only steal the thunder of the GOP convention it would send a message to the nation and the undecideds that a bipartisan president is what they would be getting with Obama. Just a hope, but what else do I have in this situation?

Why has NOONE discussed this when discussing the vetting of Hillary Clinton?

I was reading an article in yahoo news about the selection of Joe Biden while his wife was getting a root canal (they recently changed the story since they had JOE getting the root canal, but I digress). It says:
Hillary Rodham Clinton, who ran so closely to Obama in the primary, was never seriously considered, said two officials involved with the search. She asked not to be vetted unless she was going to be picked, the two officials said, speaking on a condition of anonymity to describe the private discussions.

Now this shows to me irrefutable evidence that she WOULDNT' be the pick, since she basically would be putting Obama into a corner, choose her or bust. Will  this be discussed in the MSM?  Of course not. They already have the "slap to Hillary because he didn't vett her" narrative going on.
