According to the ever-quotable <i>BC</i>, Josh Marshall wants us to note that:

I'm sure that racism also was a factor in Senator Clintons' winning California and New York, right Josh?

I read TPM every day (been reading it for years now). A couple days ago I read something on the site that I've seen with increasing frequency and I find it discouraging.

"I live in Manhattan and have a certain perspective on the country. Folks in Oklahoma or evangelicals in South Carolina have a different one. And that's fine. It's their country too." -Josh Marshall

Are the "folks" (little people, perhaps?) in Oklahoma the equivalent to evangelicals in South Carolina? What is so different in Manhattan that Oklahomans are unable to have or share Josh's perspective?

I understand the point: Oklahoma's voting record has been conservative for over a decade. But should all Oklahomans be painted with the same Red State brush?
