The reason to 'fear' trial in the US is the fact that under our laws it will be impossible to convict him. Since he was not mirandized, and the soldiers apprehending him did not have warrants, and he had no access to lawyers while the military questioned him, none of that evidence is admitable. In addition, there is the issue of trial being delayed for years, a constitutional issue, and the matter of seating a jury in NYC that is impartial, highly unlikely. Add to that the prejudicial comments by the president and the AG and a 2nd year law student could get an acquittal.

The UK has a death panel, and a 'pathway' that people are placed on that leads to denial of care and their demise.
