Obama gets the bonuses! Why do poor repubs without health care keep defending millionaires?
Obama's anti-bonus measures go even further than anyone expected and further than even European measures!
I CAN'T WAIT how poor repubs, most of them with NO health will come to the aid of those poor, poor, poor defenseless millionaires and billionaires who took our tax money and then awarded themselves bonuses.
I predict that reactions will go from insults, calling our President names and such to screeching things which are not related to bonuses at all.
Actual arguments against this plan, I don't expect to hear. They will try to pretend they are, but they won't BE actual arguments against this plan.
PS
Obviously Obama expected these greedy coyotes to do "the right thing", and yes, that was naive. At least he's setting up a system with the right incentives: They get stocks if the company performs well.

Obama collects $30,400 per couple at New York City fund raiser (Tuesday); Obama administration pay czar rolls out plan to cap salaries at bailed-out banks (Friday).
Timing, as they say in the trade, is everything.

Not exactly sure I follow your "timing is everything" point. There was not a strong showing at that dinner on Tuesday from Wall Street banks. And I'm sure that the pay czar would have rolled out the same plan either before or after that dinner fund raiser.

Obama is certainly getting less political contributions from Wall Street now than he did during his campaign. Both because banks don't want to be perceived as being in his pocket as well as because the banks are more disenchanted now than before regarding his policies.

'timing is everything' is a saying in comedy. Ellen tries to be comedic but fails horribly.
And I see what she TRIES to do, she's accusing Obama of being cynically calculating, first he takes the banks money via charity, before he caps their salaries. What Ellen seems to forget is that he's receiving the money in both instances, so he doesn't NEED the charity route, he can go the less pay route. So her thinly veiled accusations make no sense.
By the way, think of this: A lower salary produces less taxes for Obama as well, so it's not ALL in his favour.
Finally, the irony is rich, when RepuKKKes foam at the mouth because of the bail out, but when some of that money is coming back, it's .... socialism?? nazism?? Or whatever "ism" they think of next. I bet they're gonna accuse him of Buddhism, if they think it makes him look bad! You betcha!
