In DESPERATION: McCain's Fear-mongering and Race-baiting imminent.

In the aftermath of the presidential debate generally viewed to have been won by Barack Obama, and left his lead either intact, or on an upsurge, while John McCain remains not far behind, there are indications that the McCain camp as well as the Republican rank and file in general are already showing signs of nervousness, and in same vain are gearing up for an "overkill strategy" far exceeding in intensity and ruthlessness Hillary's "kitchen sink strategy" that can only be remembered for its cold-bloodedness and brutality. Thus, convinced of the looming danger of defeat,  McCain is set to give in to his now acknowledged impulsiveness and recklessness in dealing with what he perceived to be a do-or-die situation. A situation in which he has staked, as well as squandered his integrity and honor, by subordinating them to a false sense of entitlement that has been fuelled by his professed military heroism. Lately, McCain has become petty, nervous, impulsive and irrational. In that state he can be expected to be reckless, ruthless as well as destructive to the American polity, wreaking havoc as he inflames racial passion to a large segment of the electorate. The is no question these people are going to resort to race-baiting as their last resort, because Republican have always been extremely skillful at utilizing race for political advantage. Their desperation points to its inevitable eruption into barrage of negative attacks and racially-tinged smears. In the face of all this, while Obama should maintain his dignity and calmness, neither should he spur any effort to  take every opportunity to respond decisively, forcefully, relentlessly, and without delay to any challenge whose impending intensity is no longer a question of when, but how, how brutal  and how to confront them without stooping to their level.

Congressional Republican pettiness scuttled the Bailout bill.

It just goes to show how petty the Republicans can be. How can they in their right minds be overcome by emotions to the extent of scuttling an important bailout bill because of a mere speech by Speaker Pelosi. The low quality of the current crop of congressional Republican wouldn't be shocking if it were'nt so eerily similar to their presidential candidate John McCain whose own pettiness is often compounded by recklessness as well as impulsiveness which is one significant trait that defines his personality.

It is a disgrace for Republican to turn the Congress into a dungeon of pettiness and settling of scores. This is a democratic platform for deliberations that are often characterised by underlying divergencies of viewpoints or philosophies. It is a place for people's business. It is not a place for contrived squables, and it is not a place for the pampering and nursing of Republican emotions. If that's what they thought the Congress was for, then they are at the wrong place.
