Now that Obama is gaining momentum he should keep pounding them, non-stop. Go on offence.

John McCain's proposition to create a commission to study how the economic crisis came about is nothing short of gimmick on his part to deflect blame for George Bush's policies he himself supported and is likewise culpable in their reckless formulation in the same breath as Bush. Through unimaginable incompetence compounded by their discredited policies they are now trying to divert attention from the mess they have created. This commission, if it ever came into being, would only come up with its findings after the elections.

All Republican presidential campaigns---from election to election--- have been conducted on the basis of smears, distortions and lies. It does not take a political strategist to foretell that 4 years after this election cycle we will be confronted with the same lies and negativity again because for the Republicans that is all they have. They do not have issues and truth on their side. Any American who is not cognizant of this fact has'nt been paying attention.
Only recently, John McCain's running mate, Sarah Palin, had to be "protected" from the news media for fear that her ignorance of issues, paucity of substance and intellectual bankruptcy might be exposed, thus cofirming her unfitness for an office a heartbeat away from the presidency. Having refused to speak to the press, instead she chose to be interviewd by a journalist who Republicans knew would simply roll over for Palin in complicity to the delay of her inevitable exposure. To be sure, this woman is a disaster in the making. And, the question is not whether that disaster will eventuate. The question is when?
Given the time constraints there is'nt much time left, though there is some chance that her disqualifying unfitness could well be exposed to the public, and gain traction with the electorate before the elections. The voters ought to know Palin's unfitness not just for the sake of it, if only because her selection is a reckless act on the part of McCain, the implications of which strike at the heart of McCain's judgment, raising a red flag for both a flawed judgement and incompetence implied thereby. The critical nature of the foregoing facts cannot be stressed strongly enough. Thus truism about McCain flawed judgement should be belabored with grater emphasis and consistency.
